Need to know where you can find Chespin in the Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? This Grass-type starter has been a favorite since its introduction in Generation VI.

With over 200 Pokémon to catch in the Indigo Disk Pokédex, it can seem nearly impossible to catch them all. While some are easy to come across in Terarium, others like all the legendaries in Indigo Disk are a big challenge. If you’re having trouble finding Chespin, the Spiny Nut Pokémon, we’re here to help. Here’s how you can catch and evolve Chespin.

Where to find Chespin

Chespin can be found in the Chargestone Cave in the Canyon Biome of Terarium. However, before you can find this Pokémon there, you have to upgrade the Canyon Biome first.

To upgrade the biome, head to the League Club Room at Blueberry Academy. Access the computer, and choose to Contribute BP. Scroll down until you find ‘Boost biodiversity in the Canyon Biome’ from the Terarium Club. It will cost 3,000 BP to upgrade.

Once this step has been completed, you’ll be able to find more Pokémon in the Canyon Biome. Head directly to Chargestone Cave, which you can find the entrance to near the Polar Outdoor Classroom.

This cave is where you can find a Chespin. You’ll need to head deep into the cave and cross back into the Canyon Biome to find them. This Pokémon is small, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled. Once you’ve encountered them, simply catch them and they’re all yours.

Multiple spots

Chespin can actually be found in both the Canyon Biome and the Polar Biome. If you decide to find them in the Polar Biome, Chespin can be found outside the Polar Outdoor Classroom fly point. However, the Polar Biome must also be upgraded for this to work.

How to evolve Chespin into Quilladin and Chesnaught

Once you have your Chespin, keep them in your party to evolve them into Quilladin and Chesnaught. Chespin will evolve through gaining EXP and leveling, so as long as you keep them on you the Pokémon will evolve on its own.

Chespin evolves into Quilladin at level 16.

Quilladin then evolves into Chesnaught at level 36.

Chespin is a Grass-type Pokémon that is weak to Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug attacks. Chespin has two abilities, Overgrow and Bulletproof. Here are the base stats for the Pokémon:
