If you’re wondering what the best nature for your own starter might be, specifically for Fuecoco and both of its evolutions, then wonder no more as we’re here to tell you the three best natures for your starter.

What is Nature in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

So what is nature in Pokémon? Well, it’s a feature that was added in Gen 3, and is basically the defining character trait of your Pokémon. It isn’t just a superficial quality, however. What it also does is increase a specific ability by 10% all the while decreasing a different ability by the same percentage.

There are other factors of the games that are affected by the nature of your Pokémon, such as what type of food it likes and more. You can find out all about it in this ultimate Pokémon nature guide.

Best Nature For Fuecoco, Crocalor, and Skeledirge

While there are many natures to choose from, the two best natures for your Fuecoco, Crocalor, and Skeledirge, both have one thing in common, and that’s that they both increase the special attack of your Pokémon by 10%.

All three forms of Fuecoco, being heavily reliant on moves that scale with special attack, benefit a lot from such a huge increase in special attack damage. Skeledirge especially can learn hard hitting fire type moves such as fireblast and overheat later down the line, and with a 10% increase in special attack, they’ll hit even harder.

With that being said, the two best natures for your Fuecoco, Crocalor, and Skeledirge are modest and quiet.

Modest

The modest nature increases the Pokémon’s special attack but decreases the attack stat. This makes it perfect for Pokémon that are in the party to act as one hit special sweepers. They use their incredible special attack damage to take out the enemy in the least number of turns possible.

Moves such as Overheat, Fire Blast, and Flare Blitz are among the many moves that can be used to quickly wipe out the enemy.

Quiet

While the Modest nature decreases attack, the quiet nature decreases speed by 10% in exchange for a 10% increase in the special attack stat. This stat is good for either Pokémon who have an already bad speed stat, or for teams running trick room.

Final Thoughts

Of course, there are other natures that increase the special attack of your Fuecoco, Crocalor, and Skeledirge, but the stat that gets sacrificed might prove to be your downfall. For example, take Rash, which is considered to be the black sheep of the special attack-increasing natures because it sacrifices special defense.
