No Rest for the Wicked is the first heist in Payday 3. It begins with a slight re-introduction to Payday’s boisterous cast, before plunging the characters into an all-too-familiar location – a bank in New York City.
You’re going to have a few different options when you’re playing through this heist. Firstly, you’re going to be able to rush through the map using brute force, thermite, and big guns to mow down police. Alternatively, you’re going to be able to stealth your way through the map, though this is much harder.
You will need a silenced pistol to stealth your way through the first heist, which you can unlock for free. The silenced Signature 40 is one of the best weapons in Payday 3, and is unlocked pretty easily at the start of the game for free.
Payday 3 No Rest for the Wicked stealth guide
In terms of playing through this guide normally, there’s not much to say. It’s the first heist available in the game, so you’re going to have a fairly easy time getting through it. If you plan to just rush the bank, be warned that you’re going to have enemies coming for you pretty quickly.
Get into the bank
Once you load up the heist for the first time, your initial instincts might be to put on your mask and all-guns-a-blazing, you might want to start shooting up the bank. Hold off on those homicidal thoughts for just a moment – we’re going to be sneaky about this.
If you go round to the left of the bank, there’s going to be a car park. Wait until the opportunity is right, and use your lockpicks to get inside the back of the bank – evading the security guard and security camera. There will be a metal fence, which you’re going to go through. There will be a security guard and camera inside the fenced area. If you do not manage to evade them, take them out with your silenced pistol and answer the radio call. After this, head onto the roof.
Find the key-cards
You’re going to need to sneak around a few cameras and even evade a few guards, however, if you can do this you’re going to find your way inside the bank. Firstly, there’s going to be a guard with a red key-card. Sneak behind him and steal it. There’s going to be another with a blue key-card on another guard – steal this too.
Disable the power and security systems
You’re going to want to disable the power now, so on the first floor you’re going to find a room that has a power switch. Flip it to disable the power, then head upstairs to the second floor. There will be a room for the red key-card to unlock. Inside here, you can hack the security system.
When you hack the security system – provided you’ve disabled the power first – you’re going to have the option to see what color cable is connected to the computer. Don’t forget what color this is.
Now – it’s time to kill.
After this, you’re going to want to disable all of the security cameras. You can do this by heading upstairs and finding the room with a blue key-card. Inside, you’re going to have to don your mask and kill the security guard with your silenced pistol. Make sure to answer the radio so none of the other security guards are alerted.
Return to the security gate on the first floor and you will be able to open the switchbox. If you remembered from earlier, there’s a specific color which you’re going to want to hit.
How to solve the Payday 3 Vault Code puzzle
You’re going to be able to use a bank executive to cheat the retina scanners. Once you find one, use them as a human shield and push them into the eye scanner. While you’re going to have access, there’s going to be a specific code which you’re going to need to crack the vault.
Inside the Manager’s Office, or in a meeting room, there will be a set of codes on a computer. Only one will work, so it’s worth taking a screenshot or noting them down.
Optional side-quest
Now’s a good time to optionally crack a safe. The managers office is going to have some papers on the desk. Read them, and then crack the safe on the bookcase, alongside nicking any spare cash or goodies lying around.
Back at the security gate, you’re going to see a security code input. There will be fingerprints on the set of numbers most relevant to the specific code – so, enter those.
Grab the loot and run
Inside the vault, use a lockpick to open the final door. Once you do this, act quickly and disable all of the dyes on the money. After this, you’re going to need to load up yourself and your companions with as much money as possible.
Head to the van while avoiding killing any civilians, then it’s time to get the hell out of there.
