Overwatch 2 Season 4 is almost here, promising regular and returning players heaps of new content to sink their teeth into. There’s a new hero, new modes, the return of Battle for Olympus, and fresh cosmetics arriving soon, but we’re only scratching the surface of what’s in store.

Here’s everything you need to know about Overwatch 2 Season 4, including the release date, start time, new hero details, the new B.O.B. and Weave arcade mode, and more.

Overwatch 2 Season 4 release date and start time

Overwatch 2 Season 4 launches on PC and console on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Here’s a breakdown of start times by region:

  • West Coast US – 11 am PDT
  • East Coast US – 2 pm EDT
  • Europe – 8 pm CEST
  • UK- 7 pm GMT

Overwatch 2 Season 4 new hero – Lifeweaver

Overwatch 2 Season 4 introduces Lifeweaver, which, if the name didn’t offer enough of a hint, is a support hero. A scientist heralding from Thailand, Lifeweaver taps into a combination biotech and the natural world to heal and help where needed.

He’s the fifth new hero brought to the game for the Overwatch 2 relaunch and the ninth overall support hero, plugging a much-needed gap for those that thrive on playing that all-important utility role.

Here’s a brief breakdown of Lifeweaver’s ability and toolkit:

  • Healing Blossom – A charged burst that heals allies.
  • Thorn Volley – Lifeweaver’s second primary fire. Throws a barrage of thorns at enemies.
  • Petal Platform – A raised platform spawns below an ally, lifting them out of harm’s way.
  • Life Grip – Grabs an ally and pulls them to safety
  • Tree of Life – Lifeweaver’s ultimate. A massive tree spawns, healing and shielding allies.

New B.O.B. and Weave arcade mode

From launch up until April 25, players can jump into the all-new B.O.B. and Weave arcade mode. Two teams battle it out in classic 3v3 Deathmatch style, but with a twist – everyone plays as new hero Lifeweaver and each team get a B.O.B that can be manoeuvred using the Life Grip ability to dispatch enemies quickly.

New Starwatch Galactic Rescue PvP event details

Starwatch is described as a PvP space opera, which starts on May 9 and runs until May 22. Players jump in as the Watchers or the Infinite Empire to duke it out in 4v4 combat on a reworked version of Horizon Lunar Colony. Watchers play offence while the Infinite Empire defends.

To spice things up, Starwatch also weaves in PvE elements, including turrets spawning in on the Infinite Empire side, while Watchers get a helping hand from Doomfist.

Overwatch 2 Season 4 Battle for Olympus

Battle for Olympus makes a return for Overwatch 2 Season 4. It’s a free-for-all mode where Zeus Junker Queen takes on tough deities. It runs from May 23 until May 29 and will be available in Team Deathmatch alongside free-for-all.

Gardener Symmetra skin

Players can jump into matches from May 23 to May 29 to tick off the Symmetra Challenge, a set of in-game challenges that unlock the Gardener Symmetra skin epic.

Overwatch 2 Pride event

Overwatch 2 Season 4 also bundles in the game’s first-ever Pride event, starting on June 1. Details are scarce right now, but Blizzard promises more as we approach June.

Hero updates and more

Last but not least, Season 4 has plenty of hero tweaks and balance changes coming. Headlines include a rework of Brigitte’s Rally ultimate and changes to Cassidy, Reinhardt, and Sigma to cap their lethality.

Elsewhere, Mercy’s Season 3 changes are getting reverted. Season 4 also aims to improve Competitive mode. Seasonal decay is disappearing, skill ratings will appear at the start of matches, and progress will be laid out more clearly with a meter denoting division and tier details.
