Very few live service games have as much time under their belts as Overwatch 2, with it continuing on from the original. Despite this, there are still many quality-of-life changes that are missing from the game, putting it behind some of its competitors.
U/AvianOW took to the Overwatch 2 sub-Reddit to discuss quality-of-life changes that they can’t understand why they’re not in the game, with the list including:
- “Being able to filter career profile stats into roles
- Practice Range bots replaceable with heroes
- Practice Function key to open up the shooting range settings to get infinite ammo for instance
- Being able to select 3-5 heroes to display as your preferred to play when hovering over your name in party menu during matches
- Rank badges while playing comp
- Being able to select main menu backgrounds/music in game”
Other players took to the comments, with u/Mjclay pointing out an obvious change that should be made so it is easy to find out “Information about each hero’s stats(damage, healing, etc).” You would expect that to be readily available information without hunting it down in patch notes or content created online by other players such as text guides or YouTube videos.
U/TheCocoBean noted that training against bots isn’t a viable option due to “Training bots having less HP than the average playable character, so you can’t really get a feel for kill speed in actual games off them.”
One suggestion that was made by u/Xenobrina is one that I have never seen in a game before, yet it seems so obvious. It is likely that it is a feature in a game, but this has alluded me and isn’t the standard in competitive shooters, and it is that “Map win percentage and related stats. I would love to see what maps I tend to struggle on, which heroes I pick on said maps, and maybe even how long on average I spend capping certain objectives.”
These would be great additions to Overwatch 2 and it is hard to believe that they’re not already in the game. But what we do know is that Season 12 is right around the corner and is set to begin on August 20th. The highlight of the new season will be the new Hero called Luna, expect lots of coverage when this goes live.
