How to use Digby Boy
Once you have a Digby Boy, craft an Incubation Chamber and store them inside. You don’t need to sync them with your cradle as they are a utility deviant. You’ll see them wandering around, digging holes wherever they please, extracting minerals, bagging them up and walking back to the Incubation Chamber with them.
Once they are stored and get power, they’ll start passively mining for you and haul ores back to their Incubation Chamber for you to claim and use in crafting. The item they return typically depends on the skill level and the activity rating of the Digby Boy. Lower tiers ones will typically grab:
- Gravel
- Sulphur
- Copper
- Tin
- Iron
- Silver
Digby Boy Mood
If you want to get the most out of them, make sure to meet their Mood requirements. They’ll get their power back very fast when you hit all their mood requirements. This will allow them to recharge and spend more time out on the field getting you materials. To increase their Mood, you’ll need the following:
- Incubation Chamber wired to a power source with at least 5 watts of power.
- Red light shining near their chamber.
- Music playing near their chamber.
A simple Solar Generator can generate 15 watts works well, powering up to three Digby Boy Chambers. You’ll need the memetic for this, alongside new materials like steel, forged from iron, and Refined Parts to craft power generators. You can also craft a red light in the furnishing tab light menu. Place one near the Chamber. Place a simple radio near the Chamber to tick off the music requirement, accessible from the basic furniture memetic. The radio range is very small. Place the radio right in front of the Chamber to avoid any issues.
