NBA 2K24 Mamba Moments Details

The NBA 2K24 Mamba Moments commemorate a handful of Kobe’s biggest performances over his 20-year-Hall-of-Fame career. Come 2K Day, fans will be able to re-create iconic moments and historical games that defined Kobe’s legacy and greatness in the NBA.

Much like the Jordan Challenges for NBA 2K23, fans will also be able to visit a special Kobe Bryant Building in-game to earn rewards found in MyTEAM and MyCAREER that you can unlock upon completing the Mamba Moments.

On that very note, here’s a look at the new Mamba Moments mode fans will be able to relive come the arrival of NBA 2K24.

2001 Western Conference Semifinals, Game 4

A young, 22-year-old Kobe shows his true colors in a big Game 4 win over the Sacramento Kings. Though they were up 3-0 in the series, young Kobe would produce a legendary performance, dropping 48 points while grabbing 16 rebounds (and with Shaquille O’Neal on his team mind you). Everyone knew who Kobe was after this special performance, marking a special starting point for the Mamba Moments experience.

Kobe Sets NBA Three-Point Record

Before the Splash Brothers came onto the scene in Golden State, Bryant set the stage as one of the premier 3PT scorers in the game. And in 2003, he illustrated that firsthand with a dominant game against the Seattle SuperSonics, knocking down a then-NBA record for most threes in a game by converting 12 of his 18 attempts from behind the arc. As you can imagine, threes will be the name of the game in this moment so be prepared to fire away from behind the arc and often.

The Mentee Faces His Mentor

For those that watched Kobe and Michael Jordan play, it wasn’t difficult to recognize where Bryant derived his gameplay and style from. Michael Jordan was Kobe’s biggest idol, and each time they faced each other, would be must-watch television. In this moment, you will be able to re-create Kobe’s special All-Star Game duel against Michael Jordan where he dropped a whopping 55 points, 42 of which came in the first half.

Erupts For 62 Points In Three Quarters

On December 5, 2005, Kobe Bryant would accomplish the impossible at the time and score 62 points in just three quarters of play. The man was unstoppable, and in 32 minutes, could not be denied as he would singlehandedly own the Mavericks that day. As you can imagine, you will need to put the game out of reach against the Mavericks with 62 points in three quarters, just the way Kobe did in 2005.

65 Point Game Against Trail Blazers

Although Kobe would go on to have an 81 point game in 2006, it appears NBA 2K24 wanted to stay away from making these challenges too difficult, and opted to add his world class 65-point masterpiece against the Trail Blazers that he delivered in 2007 instead. What some fans might not remember, is that the Lakers were on a seven-game losing streak prior to that night. And come 2K Day, you will be tasked with ending that losing streak just like Kobe did with 65-point game.

2008 Western Conference Finals, Game 5

Come 2008, the Black Mamba was in full form. And when tasked with a tough matchup against a Spurs dynasty that planned on continuing its reign after winning its fourth NBA Title in 2007, Kobe had other ideas, dropping 39 points en route to sending the Lakers to the 2008 NBA Finals. Come the arrival of NBA 2K24, you will be able to re-create his epic performance, and will need to score 39 points to complete this Mamba Moment.

2010 NBA Finals, Game 7

The 2009-10 season would mark the Lakers 16th NBA Championship and their last one until their drought ended in 2020 with LeBron James, Anthony Davis and company. And though the Lakers share many iconic title runs throughout their franchise history, their rivalry with the Boston Celtics over the last five year-stretch at that time catered some peak basketball play, with Kobe unsurprisingly front and center. Though scoring is usually what’s needed in the other moments, this special Game 7 challenge requires you to win the game by crashing the glass and delivering elite defense with Kobe.
