Wondering how to rebound in NBA 2K24? Well, then you’ve come to the right place. 2K Sports have released their latest NBA title this week, one which promises to be the best yet.

If you’re new to the NBA 2K franchise, then it’s important that you learn how to do the basics out on the court in order to maximise your chances of success.

With that in mind, here is everything you need to know about how to rebound now we have reached the NBA 2K24 release date.

How to rebound in NBA 2K24

Rebounding is incredibly simple but is mightily important in both offence and defence.

There are three basic controls that you need to learn in order to rebound in the most efficient way possible. They are as follows:

  • Rebound: Press triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox)
  • Boxout: L2 (PlayStation) or LT (Xbox)
  • Putback (Offensive Rebounds Only): Hold square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox)

Whilst the process of attempting a rebound is simple, there are a number of different ways to increase your chance of collecting the board.

Firstly, consider your starting position. By getting in front of your opponent as soon as the initial shot is attempted, you will become the favourite to claim the rebound. The best way to do this is by boxing out.

You will also want to try to anticipate where the ball is going to go if it is to miss. For example, if the player is attempting a three from the right-hand side of the court and it looks to be undercooked, then you will want to set yourself for a short rebound.

Whilst waiting for a rebound, particularly an offensive rebound, try and look out for where your teammates are as you may be able to catch your opponent cold and fire of an uncontested shot.

Finally, you need to consider who you are attempting to rebound with. There is no point in sending Steph Curry in to attempt a rebound against Rudy Gobert, as you’ve got no chance. Make sure you pick those matchups wisely.
