Layups are a staple part of any NBA offense, as they are one of the most efficient options if you want to add a quick two points to your tally. However, whilst simple, a range of layup styles are available in NBA 2K24, with slight alternations to the controls for each.

How to layup in NBA 2K24
As we’ve already alluded to, layups are incredibly simple and will provide you with plenty of points across each game you play.
The default controls for a basic layup remain the same as in years gone by. They are as follows:
- Layup: Whilst driving towards the basket, move and hold your right analogue stick up.
However, as was the case in previous 2K titles, there is also a range of different layup styles that you can opt for. They are as follows:
- Floater Layup Whilst driving towards the basket, hold the right analogue stick down.
- Reverse Layup: Whilst driving along the right baseline, move and hold the right analogue stick to the right
- Euro Step Layup: Whilst driving, double tap square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox) and hold the left analogue stick towards the ball carriers off hand.
- Cradle Layup: Whilst driving, double tap square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox) and hold the left analogue stick towards the ball carriers ball hand.
- Hop Step Layup: Whilst driving, tap square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox)
