NBA 2K24 MyCAREER Builder
Anyone who plays MyCAREER knows how much fun it is to customise and create their MyPLAYER builds. And in NBA 2K24, fans will have two different ways to start their MyPLAYER building process. This year, fans have the option to choose to create their own MyPLAYER from scratch or start with an NBA player template, which is new in NBA 2K24.
Should you opt for the template option, you will find that a variety of player types are among the handful of NBA players. This new feature allows you to not only pick your template but also customise it to your liking, however much that might be.
If you do choose to customise or build your MyPLAYER from scratch, it’s important to keep in mind that Takeovers are no longer a part of the builder process and height will once again determine your tier assignments. This year badges are split into four tiers: S, A, B, and C, with S-Tier badges consisting of the best. To top it off, attribute caps for various size combinations did see a significant overhaul, and max heights as well as weights did receive adjustments for each position.
NBA 2K24 Badge Level Progression
As soon as you complete your MyPLAYER build, you can dive head-on into your badge level progression, which this year has a new twist. Unlike NBA 2K23 that was reliant on badge points and attribute categories, fans will determine their badge levels in NBA 2K24 through usage, meaning how often they’re firing off in a game.
As you play more games, your usage and skills with each badge will be evaluated, and your badges will start to trend towards the level that matches your play. In addition, your badge levels will never fall below a bronze, and should they dip, regaining their previous standing won’t take as long. Though this is a good thing, fans should keep in mind that each badge tier you level up is progressively harder to gain and quicker to lose. So in short, your badge standing will truly reflect the player you are on the court.
That said, fans are still able to improve their badge levels to where they want them to be by not only playing games, but also logging in reps at the Team Practice Facility, the Gatorade Training Facility, and at Chris Brickley’s Gym. And the best part the progression this year, is that you can unlock a variety of special prizes and features to accelerate your badge-level progression, which include Badge Perks and Performance Multipliers.
To clarify, Badge Perks are prizes that provide benefits to the progression of individual badges, which consists of ‘slots’ that each player can fill when unlocked. Whereas Performance Multipliers are prizes that grant benefits to all of your equipped badges at once, so long as challenges from the multipliers are met in their respective modes.
