Modern Warfare 3 campaign walkthrough mission 2 – Precious Cargo

Modern Warfare 3 Precious Cargo is the MW3’s second mission and puts you in control of Farah. With the depot under siege in Urzikstan, you enter the fray weaponless and must navigate this Open Combat Mission starting with no more than a Gutter Knife.

We’ll walk you through Precious Cargo and help you get Farah through alive. As it’s an Open Combat Mission, there’s no linear path like in MW3 Operation 627, and instead you’re dropped into a semi-open zone to fight and explore as you want.

Modern Warfare 3 Precious Cargo walkthrough

Once you spawn in, your first objective is to access the shadow company arms shipment. The container with the gear is roughly straight ahead of you when you start MW3 Precious Cargo. Avoid running directly there and stick to cover on the left. Stay out of sight as much as possible, avoiding the patrolling truck. 

Gear up when you get to the stash, making sure to pick up the parachute and the custom MTZ 556. Equip an armor plate as well. You’ll then get two objectives: acquire GPS trackers from the ship and retrieve manifest from harbor tower building. You bring up the map to see the locations of each objective.

Acquire GPS Trackers from the Ship

Make your way to the marker in the north of the Modern Warfare 3 Precious Cargo map. Avoid open areas and stick tight to the corridors between the shipping containers. Pick off any enemies that spot you, but otherwise aim for a stealthy approach. Getting some height is a good strategy here.

In the image above, we’ve marked the location of a custom BAS-B assault rifle that’s worth picking up on the way to the ship. Once you reach the ship, grab the ascender on a crate next to a rope leading up to the boat, then head up. The deck is teeming with enemies so be prepared for a fight. Take out all the guards then head for the control room on the bridge. Be careful of any stragglers in the hallways leading to the bridge.

The GPS Trackers are on the table at the centre of the room. In the adjacent rooms, you’ll also find a Sentry Gun, RGL-80, plate carrier upgrade, bomb drone, and KVD Enforcer. Before leaving the ship, go to the back of the ship to find an armor upgrade inside an open container and a UTV. To get the UTV off the ship, enter the UTV, drive it out of the container then off the ramp on the right. It’s a little too conspicuous for our liking, so we recommend continuing on foot.

Retrieve Manifest from Harbor Tower Building

Make your way over to the harbor tower building in the southeast of the map. As above, slow and methodical is the way here. Use the containers to your advantage. Once you reach the tower, avoid going in through the main garage door entrance and instead flank round to the stairs on the south side of the building.

Enter the building and head straight then take the first left up a flight of stairs to the third floor. The corridors are peppered with enemies. Peak cautiously round corners and use grenades to clear the way. On the third floor, enter the third room on your left and grab the manifest from the table. The next objective is to stick the trackers on a pair on containers.

Plant GPS Trackers on Missile Containers

Both containers are located in the east of the map, on directly opposite north-south sides of the map. Make your way to the northernmost container. When you reach the objective, ascend up to the walkway of the container lift using the hanging rope and take out the guards. Plant the tracker.

Head for the second tracker location in the southwest of the map. This missile container is easier to reach than the first as it’s only stacked on top of one other container. Plant the tracker to wrap up the Modern Warfare 3 Precious Cargo mission.

Modern Warfare 3 Precious Cargo weapons and items locations

Here’s the location of all weapons, field upgrades, and items in MW3 Precious Cargo:

1. 556 Icarus – in a crate in the workshop building in the south of the map.
2. Snapshot Pulse – inside a crate in the workshop building in the south of the map.
3. UTV – in a crate at the back of the ship. The container is stacked on top of another open one so climb up to reach the vehicle.
4. KVD Enforcer – in a side room on the ship’s bridge.
5. Sentry Gun – inside the ship’s bridge control room.
6. RGL-80 – inside the ship’s bridge control room.
7. Bomb Drone – in a side room off of the ship’s bridge.
8. BAS-B – in a crate on top of a stack of containers just northwest of the center of the map.
9. Silenced Rival-9 – on top of a stack of containers just southwest of the map’s center.
10. RPK – in a room on the third floor of the harbor tower building.
11. Pulemyot 762 – in a room on the third floor of the harbor tower building.
12. Explosive Victus XMR – in a crate on the roof of the harbor tower building.
13. Silence ISO Hemlock – in a crate in the one-level rectangular hut in the very east of the map, northeast of the harbor tower building.
14. Hybrid STB 556 – in an office just northeast of the map’s central crossroads.
15. GS Magna – in a small crate hidden among the containers in the northwest of the map. 
16. Silenced Expedite 12 – inside a second-story crate in the southwest of the map, near the second GPS tracker plant location.
17. Munitions Box – on the ground floor of the haborr tower building
18. Pila – on the roof of the workshop in the south of the map.
19. Signal 50 – on the walkway of a container lift in the northeast of the map.
20. Heartbeat Sensor – in a ground floor container in the southwest of the map.
21. Incendiary Bryson 800 – in a small cabin below the northernmost smoke stack on the ship.
