Modern Warfare 3 campaign walkthrough mission 8 – Oligarch

The Modern Warfare 3 Oligarch mission drops you on the shores of a fortified island inhabited by the financier fueling Makarov’s murderous antics. Your mission is to infiltrate the island to retrieve the HVI’s FOB key and, ultimately, Milena Romanova.

Modern Warfare 3 Oligarch walkthrough

To start, note that Oligarch is another semi-open world Open Combat Mission like Precious Cargo and Reactor, so there’s no linear path through. Here’s our recommended route to get the mission over and done with as quick as possible.

Swim to the docks, climb the ladder, and quietly take out the crouching hostile. Press on to the beach. Take on the enemy on your right near the beach beds, then turn around and follow the beach south until you find some steps you can climb.

Go up and stick to the left side of the house until you hit a tunnel emitting a green light. Grab the ascender and the ammo refill before going in. Follow the cave until you hit a rope leading up. Ascend. Grab the sniper rifle in the case then set up on the overhang overlooking the compound. Pick off as many guards as you can.

Slide down the bank ahead to reach the second floor of the house in front of you, then continue north to the next house. Inside is the HIV carrying the FOB key. Eliminate as you see fit then grab the key.

Open the Bunker Door

Exit the house and make your way to the house in the far west of the map. Once inside, hit the button on the console in the front room to open the bunker door. Pick off the two enemies that emerge from the bunker then head inside, kill the lone guard, and use the FOB key to access the terminal at the back.

Make your way over to the mansion in the northeast of the map. When you reach the driveway, bomber drones will appear so make sure you blow them out of the sky before they get too close. Advance steadily towards the house, taking out hostiles as they appear. Once inside, make your way to the third floor. As you reach the third floor landing, go slow as there are three armored guards at the top that will put up a fight.

When the area is clear and Ghost confirms the power is out, head into the safe room to find Milena Romanova, trigger a cutscene, and finish the Modern Warfare 3 Oligarch campaign mission. Next up, Highrise.
