If you want to change your name in Modern Warfare 3, you will create an Activision Account and earn a Token. Past Call of Duty titles didn’t have this option. This has become available in recent years. To complete this process, follow these steps:
- Launch Modern Warfare 3
- Press options from the hub section/home screen and access the options menu
- Select the Account Tab
- Select the Activision Account option
- Change display name
Once you change your Activision ID, you will need to restart the game. This will allow the change to take effect. Each time you change your ID, it requires a name change token. You are automatically given one of these tokens every six months. The change will also take effect across all game modes – Multiplayer, DMZ, and Warzone.
