El Sin Nombre is a unique mission in Modern Warfare 2, Playing more like Hitman than a typical Call of Duty level at times.
With Soap willingly giving himself up for interrogation to get a meeting with cartel leader El Sin Nombre, you’ll have to smooth-talk your captors and make your way to the top of the building with Alejandro’s help.
El Sin Nombre offers you a wealth of options for reaching your target. We’ll outline the most direct route, while also giving you some options for exploring and clearing your own path.

Modern Warfare 2 – El Sin Nombre Interrogation
As the mission begins, Soap will be introduced to Diego, El Sin Nombre’s lieutenant. Diego will have you escorted through the basement and into an interrogation seat where El Sin Nombre’s right hand, Valeria, is waiting.
You will be given dialogue choices during the interrogation, and as Alejandro briefed you, you will need to tell the truth. Don’t worry, there are no negative repercussions for giving info on your allies. The correct answers to each of the interrogation questions are below:
- Q: Who attacked us there? A: It was Mexican Special Forces
- Q: Who were they? A: American PMCs. Shadow Company.
- Q: Who leads Shadow Company? A: Phillip Graves
- Q: What does he want? A: Any of the choices is valid.
With the interrogation over, you will be led to an elevator and rendezvous with Alejandro. He will give you a mask and allow you to explore the building, looking for a way to the penthouse where Sin Nombre is holding a meeting.
The elevator to the top requires a key card. You will need to find Diego and take his card to gain elevator access. Diego is in an ofrenda on the second floor. You will need to make your way up there to take him out.

Modern Warfare 2 – El Sin Nombre Armory (Optional)
As soon as you leave the elevator, head around the corner to the right. Two guards are interrogating a man named Coyote. Wait until one of the guards is leaving and stealth kill the other to pick up an X12 pistol, easily concealable and useful for backup if needs be.
Enter the building to the left and move through to the kitchen to acquire two throwing knives. These stealthy, one-hit-kill tools are incredibly useful in this mission.
A closed door to the left of the kitchen will let you into the garage, which contains Diego’s armory. This is a restricted area, and the guards will attack if they see you enter. Take out the kitchen guard overlooking the garage with a stealth kill or throwing knife.
Move into the garage and hurl a knife through the security window to dispatch the remaining guard, gaining access to the armory. You have a wealth of weaponry available here, – including a Crossbow, silenced P890 and SP-R 208 – giving you the option of taking on the rest of this mission by force. Ghost and Alejandro will back you up if you take this route.
Modern Warfare 2 – El Sin Nombre Stealth
If you would rather proceed with stealth, leave the armory and head through the dining hall to the stairs. The guard standing near them will soon take his patrol elsewhere, allowing you to freely enter the second floor.
Pick up a bottle from the upper landing, move right, and then through a door into the bedroom. In the closet, you will find a SA-B 50 Hybrid silenced rifle.
Enter Diego’s bedroom on the second floor and open his safe with the code 02-02-19 to receive a Lockwood 300 shotgun and Plate Carrier.
Head out onto the balcony, climb across the roof, and around the corner. Pick off the guard blocking the stairs ahead with the silenced rifle. Climb over the second balcony and kill the guard patrolling to your left with a throwing knife.
Retrieve the knife from the guard’s body, move into the neon-lit room to the right and drop the guard blocking access to the ofrenda with your silenced rifle. Pick up another throwing knife from the center of the table if needed.
Open the ofrenda door and drop both the guard and Diego with throwing knives. Pick up Diego’s .50GS pistol and retrieve the ID card from the altar. Take out the two guards coming to investigate and move quickly down the hallway to the elevator. Get in and ride to the penthouse.
El Sin Nombre Revealed
Open the closet to the left to pick up an Expedite 12 shotgun. As Alejandro gets you into the checkpoint, use the snake cam to discover El Sin Nombre’s true identity.
Take out the soldiers past the door and pursue El Sin Nombre/Valeria to the roof. Capture Valeria when prompted to complete the El Sin Nombre mission in Modern Warfare 2.
