Tradecraft is a short mission early in the Modern Warfare 2 campaign, but an interesting and unique one. You’re tasked with aiding Laswell and Price in abducting a target and will do so through subtler means than the usual guns-blazing display.

Modern Warfare 2: Tradecraft Walkthrough
Following on from the meeting established in Wetwork, Gaz and Laswell will proceed through the streets of Amsterdam to the Cafe Grecht.
As soon as the mission starts, you’ll begin tailing the target. Keep weapons holstered, for now, there are many civilians around, and drawing your pistol will incite a panic.
Cross the bridge and keep pace with Laswell. A couple of cartel guards will split up near the bridge and Laswell will break off to follow one of them. Deal with the remaining guard with a silent takedown, then reconvene with Laswell.
Two Cartel agents are standing guard by the cafe, and Laswell has no wish to cause a firefight in the middle of the packed street. Fortunately, Price has an alternative plan.

Price’s Plan
Meet with Price at the café to receive a decoy grenade. Return to Laswell and move down the alley, activating the grenade in a dumpster to draw the guards in. Once they enter the alley, take one out with your P980 Pistol, and Laswell will cover the other.
Move over to Price, who is escorting the target at gunpoint. Unfortunately, cartel reinforcements will arrive, requiring you to take cover behind a plinth or table nearby. The reinforcements will attempt to flank you, take them out quickly, and be mindful of civilian casualties. Hitting civilians will force a restart at a checkpoint, so time your shots well.
With the Cartel soldiers dispatched, head back over to Price to subdue and extract your target, completing the Tradecraft mission in Modern Warfare 2.
