If you are looking to upgrade your mech in Lightyear Frontier, you are going to need wiring. Specifically, you are going to need to know how to get copper and copper wire. This is because they are the main components for altering your mech and building electronics. Without these materials, you can say goodbye to your advancement.
Getting copper in Lightyear Frontier
Copper is found in the Edge Cliffs region of the map in Lightyear Frontier. Before you can gather this material, you must complete the “restore Edge Cliffs” objective. Once this is done, you can use the Spike Saw to gather Copper from the area and use it to make Copper Wire.
Where to find copper in Lightyear Frontier
If you want to find copper, you need to go to the Edge Cliffs region of the map. This is the area to the south of The Meadows where you start the game. You will be able to clear this area out fairly early just like you can restore Pine Heights.

Before you can get this mineral, you need to restore Edge Cliffs by removing the Noxious Weeds. After that, you need to upgrade your Spike Saw on your mech. Once both objectives have been completed, you will be able to mine the ore deposits in the area. There are multiple deposits scattered around but we marked the areas with the most of them on the map above.
How to make copper wire in Lightyear Frontier
To make copper wire, you just need to bring copper back to your Homestead and interact with the Assembler. Once you have obtained this mineral, you will automatically unlock the copper wire recipe back at your camp, allowing you to make the item without additional materials required. You will need two ore per piece of wire so make sure that you have enough ore before you start crafting this material. Keep in mind, that you will need other materials such as Red Crystal Dust for some of these crafting recipes.
