Taming animals
- To tame an animal you first need to build a Barn in your village
- Craft an Animal Treat and feed it to the animal you want to tame
- Make it follow you back to your village and register it in your Barn
Since the launch of the game mode, LEGO Fortnite players have been begging Epic Games to let them tame the animals you see all over the map. Thankfully, with an update to the game mode, that’s finally possible and you can build yourself your own farm right at your village.
But the process of making your farm isn’t exactly made clear, so you might be wondering how exactly you can tame animals in LEGO Fortnite. That’s where we come in, as we’ve written up a quick guide to tell you everything you need to know.
How do you tame animals in LEGO Fortnite?
To tame animals, there are several steps you need to take. You first need to build a Barn (or Animal House if you prefer), feed an animal an Animal Treat, and then lead them back to your village. Here’s how to do each step in order:
Building a Barn
A Barn is a structure that you can start building once your village hits Level 2. Open up the build menu and select the Barn at the top of the Utility tab. Now, simply place it down wherever you want your farm to be. You’ll need one Barn for each animal you want to tame, so it’s worth putting a couple down while you’re doing this.
Feeding an Animal Treat
Next, you’ll need to actually find and tame the animal. To do this, you need to cook an Animal Treat at the Grill in your village. Each one of these will take 5x Vines and 3x Corn. Once you’ve got your Animal Treat, approach an animal and hit the interact button. This will feed the Treat to them and make them start following you.
Bring them back to your village
With your new animal in tow, you have to bring them home. They will start naturally following you, albeit a little bit behind, so don’t go too fast. If they get spooked by a monster attack or falling too far, they might run away, and you’ll need to feed them another Animal Treat to get them back.
Once you’re back at the village with your animal, simply interact with one of your Barns. This will give you the option to assign the following animal to that Barn. After that, all you need to do is ensure they get fed and petted regularly and you’ll start harvesting whatever resource they provide.
