How long is God of War Ragnarok?

It’ll likely not surprise you to learn that God of War Ragnarok is a hefty sequel. There’s an epic main quest line, a bunch of side quests and optional missions and all sorts of stuff to discover.

From our playthrough, we can confirm that the story will probably take you around 20-25 hours to complete. If you want to finish off and see everything the game has to offer, you’re looking at a mighty 40-50 hours for a 100% completion.

The latter includes things like collectibles such as the returning Ravens, treasure maps and much more that we won’t get into any more further detail here at risk of spoiling anything further. But we’ve got 100% guides for each realm if you want to know more.

At the time of writing, there is currently no New Game Plus in the game, but that doesn’t mean you won’t want to play it through again either.

Of course, this time will depend on a few factors – if you want to really get stuck in for a long time feel free to pump that difficulty up. Conversely, if you’re tight for time and you want to see the end – take it down a tad. For those who want to make Ragnarok last longest, opt for God of War difficulty.

How long was God of War (2018?)

According to HowLongToBeat.com the previous God of War clocked in at 20.5 hours for the Main Story, 32.5 hours for the Main Story + Sidequests, and 51 hours for a 100% completion run.

Judging on that then, it’s clear that this sequel is a little bigger – and should give you a decent litmus test of how much time to set aside if you’ve already played that one.
