What is a Weapon Tree in Monster Hunter Rise?

There are a total of 14 weapon categories in Monster Hunter Rise. When you start off in the game, you’ll find that there are many weapons in each of the weapon categories that you cannot access without first unlocking nodes in its Weapon Tree. This Weapon Tree shows the different weapon types and upgrade paths that are available to players.

Each weapon type, whether it’s a sword and shield, a bow, or a hammer, has its own tree that details the different versions of the weapon that can be obtained through crafting and the materials required to upgrade from one version to the next. This allows players to plan out their weapon upgrades and gather the necessary materials to achieve their desired weapon.

The end of the Weapon Tree is where you will find the game’s strongest weapon, therefore you can only reach them by defeating some of the toughest Monsters in the game.

How to Unlock a Weapon Tree in Monster Hunter Rise?

To unlock Weapon Trees for a specific weapon category you must first obtain the core material required. To obtain the core material, you must progress through the game and hunt the relevant monsters. Keep in mind that you may have to progress in the story to unlock certain Weapon Trees. This can be an upside however because the farther you get in the story, the more core materials you obtain. Armor Trees in the game also function in a similar manner where you will have to defeat relevant monsters to obtain specific armor.

As you progress through the game and defeat more monsters, the weapon you can create will become more expensive and powerful. It’s important to keep in mind that you can roll back most weapons you create, simply by checking the Weapon Tree and selecting the node with a yellow arrow. This will also return the materials used to create the weapon.
