Dead Island 2 alarms explained

Car battery powering Dead Island 2 alarms.

To disable an alarm in Dead Island 2, find the alarm and destroy the power source or battery powering it to turn it off. When an alarm goes off, you’ll see it signalled by a red exclamation mark, so simply follow the exclamation mark to track down the alarm.

To disable an alarm mounted on buildings, find and destroy the electrical box powering the alarm. Any melee weapon or a few shots of your favourite gun does the job. For car alarms, you’ll need to remove the yellow battery mounted under the bonnet of the vehicle. It’s found at the front of the car and a good telltale sign of an alarmed car is if the front hood is open. Approaching the battery will give you a prompt to remove it and silence the alarm. As an added benefit, you can also chuck the battery at any nearby zombies to shock them.

There you have it, everything you need to silence those pesky Dead Island 2 alarms. For more on the decade-in-the-making sequel, check out our guides to Dead Island 2 legendary weapons, how to get fuses in Dead Island 2, and how to track down the Dead Island 2 Curtis’ Safe Key location.
