MW2 Raids – How To Get A Raid Key

MW2 Raids Key

Raid Keys are a necessary step toward accessing raids in MW2. Once you’ve acquired a raid key, you – along with whatever team you choose to bring along – are able to take part in the raid for up to a week. After this point, another raid key will need to be acquired in order to access raids again.

Raid keys can currently be acquired via three different methods, split across MW2, Warzone 2, and Warzone 2’s DMZ mode:

  • Complete a daily challenge listed in any multiplayer mode or spec ops
  • Exfil with $30,000 or more at the end of a DMZ match.
  • Finish in the top 20 in a Warzone 2 battle royale.

MW2 Raids Prep – Pace Yourself

MW2 Raids Prep

While MW2 players might be used to short bursts of action in multiplayer modes, raids are going to prove a lengthier challenge. Atomgrad and the other raids yet to come will effectively be dungeon runs.

Burning out early will do you no good, and your stamina and stockpiles will both be whittled down as the raid progresses. Conserve ammo and move through the raid step-by-step. Your squad will be there to back you up, so long as you don’t make things too difficult for them.

Re-familiarise With MW2’s Campaign

MW2 Campaign

The Atomgrad raid serves as a continuation of MW2’s campaign, and it stands to reason that future raids will have the same function. Price, Gaz, and Farah all play a crucial part in Atomgrad, and for this raid to have the maximum impact you’ll want to be familiar with what these characters were last up to.

MW2 Raids Prep – Teamwork Is Essential

Modern Warfare 2

Raids are never going to be a solo affair. Much like DMZ, if you go in expecting to effortlessly survive as a lone wolf, you’re in for a rude awakening. Coordinating with your team is key to survival and will serve you much better than dropping into Atomgrad with a gung-ho attitude.

Level up In Spec Ops

Raids aren’t, they function in tandem with the Spec Ops mode. Raids will utilize your Spec Ops kits, so if you’ve been neglecting this side of MW2, now’s the time to dive into Spec Ops and boost your kit to a respectable level. Otherwise, you might find yourself underequipped when it comes time to take on MW2 raids.
