Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe is a trial that lets you take on a series of fights in a rouge-like game mode. At the moment, there are seven Worlds in the Simulated Universe to choose from, each one posing a different challenge. While in the Simulated Universe, you make your way through levels and gain different buffs in the shape of Blessings after each fight.

Blessings enhance your characters in various ways, giving you more HP, more damage, and other beneficial perks. When you start each Simulated World, you choose a Path that will correspond to one of the Paths in the game, these can be the Abundance, Hunt, Destruction, and so on. Picking a Path and getting Blessings that match it will give you a more powerful ability in the Simulated Worlds.

Before we get into Simulated Universe, you might want to get up to speed on the Honkai Star Rail 1.3 release, and how to level up fast in Honkai Star Rail if you want to tackle more challenging Worlds in the Simulated Universe.

How to unlock Simulated Universe

Simulated Universe is unlocked by clearing the quest Simulated Universe: First Closed Beta. As you clear this quest, you will unlock more Simulated Universe Worlds and as you clear them you will unlock even more. Simulated Worlds three and four have five difficulties, while Worlds five, six, and seven have four difficulties.

What is the Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe

Simulated Universe is an extensive game mode in Honkai Star Rail. It is introduced as part of a side quest and it is a feature that gives weekly rewards, and a generous supply of Stellar Jades, and it is the only way to get Planar Ornaments, which are slightly different to Relic sets.

When you begin a World in the Simulated Universe, you will be asked to choose a Path to follow. As of patch 1.2, there are seven Paths you can pick in the Simulated Universe. Choosing a Path will increase your chances of getting Blessings from the matching Path.

  • Preservation
  • Remembrance
  • Nihility
  • Abundance
  • The Hunt
  • Destruction
  • Elation

As more Worlds are added Honkai is updated, it is likely more Paths will become available. The idea behind picking a Path is to tailor your run of the World to the characters you’re using and their play style. For example, if you have a lot of characters who are Nihility, you will probably want to choose Nihility as your Path and pick every Nihility Blessing you find.

Each Path has a special ability tied to it which activates when you get three Blessings – this ability is called Path Resonance. Then, you can get three more passive effects at 6/10/14 Blessings of the matching Path. Generally speaking, you will want to focus on Blessings for your Path.

Pick Abundance for good survivability

Even if you have no Abundance characters in your Simulated Universe teams, it is important to note that the Abundance Path Resonance will provide an AoE heal and all Blessings of Abundance will enhance healing and has the potential to make your team unkillable.

Each Simulated Universe World has 13 levels and you are able to pick your route through. Each room will be different depending on which route you take. There are a few different rooms, such as Combat, Transaction, Occurance, Elite, and Boss. Combat rooms are generally the best because each time you win a fight in the Simulated Universe, you get to pick one out of three Blessings. The more Blessings, the better your run will go.

Simulated Universe can be done as many times as you like and you are encouraged to do it each week to get the weekly rewards.

Simulated Universe Planar Ornaments

One reason you should keep doing Simulated Universe is because you can get Planar Ornaments from it. Like Relics, there are different Planar Ornament sets and each one provides a buff for a specific character’s kit. Each World in Simulated Universe offers two Planar Ornament sets and you have to spend your Trailblaze Energy to claim them.

The two pieces that make up a Planar Ornament set are the Planar Sphere and the Link Rope. Equipping two of the same set will give you a set bonus, so you should always try to use two from the same set. Mixing and matching will not work here since there are only two slots and to get the bonus you need two of the same. Here is a list of all the Planar Ornaments in Honkai Star Rail.
