Is Honkai Star Rail co-op? If you’ve been a long-time player of Genshin Impact, then you should already be aware of its multiplayer mode that allows you to complete quests with your friends. With this in mind, you may also be wondering whether HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG installment has this feature as well.

Does Honkai Star Rail have co-op?

Unfortunately, no, Honkai Star Rail does not have co-op. Unlike its equally popular open world counterpart in Genshin Impact, HoYoverse’s latest turn-based RPG creation doesn’t have a multiplayer mode that will allow you to take on quests with your friends. However, you can still add up to 50 friends in the game, which will let you see their in-game progress regularly.

It’s worth noting, though, that you can use Support Characters in specific portions of the game, such as in Calyxes and the Cavern of Corrosion. Making use of this feature essentially allows you to bring in a character from another player’s team temporarily to assist you in completing a few matches. It’s also important to keep in mind that this mechanic isn’t only limited to players in your friends list as you can borrow Support Characters from any user in the game.

With that said, HoYoverse may eventually introduce co-op to Honkai Star Rail since Genshin Impact already has this mechanic. But since these games’ style of play differ, its inclusion into the former may not be as seamless as it was in the latter.
