Hogwarts Legacy is currently being enjoyed by millions of Harry Potter fans around the world. With a gametime of more than 40 hours and hefty quest list, not to mention a bucketload of side-quests, aspiring wizards will have their work cut-out if they’re to reach the max level and complete the game.

Whilst a lot of the time you’ll be required to use your spells, sometimes you may not want to run around with a wand in hand. So, is there a way of putting it away manually? Here’s what you need to know.

How to put wand away in Hogwarts Legacy

For putting the wand away – there’s no set button, control, or action. You need to stand still for around ten seconds or so and the character will automatically put the wand away.

This will trigger a short animation of your character putting the said wand away. This can come in handy if you want a screenshot of your character without a wand in hand – which can look unnatural if they are just randomly exploring the world.

Please follow these steps to put away your character’s wand in Hogwarts Legacy:

  • Find a safe place where there are no enemies
  • Wait around 10 seconds or so
  • The character will put a wand away if holding it

As soon as you cast a spell, the character pulls out the wand again. The wand will also automatically come out if your character runs into an enemy.
