How to unlock Practice mode

You can enter training mode by interacting with Sir Barrold, the Training Dummy found on the Grandcypher. You can challenge the training dummy Sir Barrold at any time, all you need to do is head to the Grandcypher from either Folca or Seedhollow.

Practice mode is unlocked automatically, the first time you can travel to the Grandcypher from a town. To board the Grandcypher, head to the airship docks at either town and select the ‘Grandcypher’ option that appears. Once aboard the Grandcypher, head to the front of the airship and look for Sir Barrold on the floor to the left.

When you interact with the training dummy in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, you will have three training options to choose from Practice, Score Attack, and Time Attack.

Practice mode

This mode puts you against Sir Barrold in a customisable fight against the training dummy. Barrold has infinite HP and you can test our combo rotations on it to your heart’s content. You can set your Skills to have no cooldown and you can set your SBA Gauge to always be at maximum. Within the settings, you can also set Sir Barrold to attack you, letting you nail dodge and block timings.

Score Attack

Score attack gives you a time limit of 10, 30, or 60 seconds to deal as much damage as possible to Barrold. This is another way to test out your DPS and figure out how much damage you can do. The game records your attempts, listing the character and your personal best record. For a training dummy, Sir Barrold has to deal with a lot.

Time Attack

Time Attack is a little different, in that it has set difficulties. This mode will time how long it takes for you to beat Sir Barrold, getting its HP to zero. Depending on the difficulty chosen, Barrold will have more HP and hit harder. Choose your character, their skills, and gear, and get into the fight.
