Of all the relics you can find in God of War Ragnarok, the Mystical Heirloom is by far the most curious and mysterious relic. Unlike other relics, it’s effectively useless in combat, proffering no benefits or practical application whatsoever, but used in the right place across the Nine Realms can summon some truly towering enemies, ultimately leading to one of the best armor sets in God of War Ragnarok – the Steinbjorn armor.

If all this sounds rather exciting, but you’re wondering where to find the Mystical Heirloom relic in God of War Ragnarok, we’re here to help. Before we continue, it’s worth noting that the following contains spoilers, so if you want to experience it all first hand, we recommend completing the story before referring to this guide.

How to Get the Mystical Heirloom Relic in God of War Ragnarok

First things first, you’ll need to have Draupnir Spear to access the Mystical Heirloom. You’ll pick it up as part of the mandatory main path story mission called Forging Destiny. Aside from being a formidable weapon to complement the Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos, it has the added utility of breaking through weak points and creating climbing points in wind notches across the Nine Realms.

Spear in hand, travel to the Lake of Nine mystic gateway in Midgard and sled down to the south of the lake, just southwest of Tyr’s Temple. There you’ll find a cluster of ice blocking the path to a small hidden area. Spear and detonate the weak point to clear the ice. Step through into the area. You’ll find the relic on the left as you enter next to a body.

We also recommend picking up and reading the Receipt of Purchase Lore Scroll next to the relic as it provides some clues as to how to use the heirloom. Mirmir also has a bit of knowledge to impart so listen up for more clues.
