God of War Ragnarok – Svartalfheim Realm Guide 100% Completion

In this God of War Ragnarok guide, you’ll find the location of everything needed to get 100% in the realm of Svartalfheim – Nornir chests, legendary chests, lore, artifacts, ravens, Hel tears, Remnants of Asgard, Favors, Draugr Holes, buried treasure, and more.

It goes without saying that we’re venturing into spoiler territory, so we don’t recommend using this guide until you’ve completed the God of War Ragnarok story in full. Getting 100% in Svartalfheim requires tools and weapons that only unlock later in the game. You’ve been warned.

Aurvangar Wetlands 100%

Nornir Chests 2/2

Dock at the first beach on the right. Freeze the water and jump over the geyser. Go right to find a Nornir chest. Shoot the runes to unlock it. There’s one to the right of the chest, one behind, and one on the ledge above the chest. To access it, back track across the gap and freeze the geyser on the right. Jump up and shoot the rune.

Dock at the sixth beach counting up from the mystic portal. The first spinner is to the right of the chest. Hit the spinner on the right twice. You can freeze the geyser to check the symbol. Follow the path round and the second spinner is on your left. Hit it twice to land on the symbol resembling a ‘B’. Lastly, hop up to the level above (where the chest is) for the third spinner. Hit it once so it lands on the ‘N’ symbol. Collect the Horns of Blood Mead from the chest to boost your maximum rage.

Legendary Chests 1/1

Dock at the sixth beach counting up from the mystic gateway. Climb up the ledge on the left to find a Legendary chest.

Lore 1/1

Dock at the sixth beach counting up from the mystic gateway. Head up the ledge on the left and follow it left to find the Unsafe Roads Rune Read.

Artifacts 2/2

Dock at the first beach on the right up from the mystic gateway. Jump across the geyser, then head right up on to the rock. There you’ll find the Hreidmar’s Brassard artifact near the body, part of Things Left Behind collection.

Dock at the seventh beach counting up from the mystic gateway. Solve the weight puzzle to open the watergate. Next to the chain, there’s the Kvasir’s Poems – The Sunrise of Nothingness artifact.

Odin’s Ravens 1/1

Walk forward from the Aurvangar Wetlands mystic gateway and defeat the Wretches, then look to the top of the rock on the left to find one of Odin’s Ravens.

Hel Tears 1/1

After freeing Garm in Helheim, return to the Aurvangar Wetlands. Dock at the second beach up from the mystic gateway and take a left up the scaffold. Drop down and across the gap is a Hel Tear. Defeating all the enemies and closing the tear grants a Frozen Flame.

Remnants of Asgard 1/1

After beating the story, return to the Aurvangar Wetlands. Dock at the fifth beach up from the mystic gateway, the one through a low gap on the left of the main waterway. Dock to find a Remnants of Asgard spot. Defeat all the enemies.

Modvitnir’s Rig 100%

Legendary Chests 1/1

Loot the Muspelheim seed from the Legendary chest and start The Crucible Favour, which is just up from the Modvitnir’s Rig dock.

Lore 1/1

Grapple across the gap and jump down on the right to grab the Warning Lore Marker.

Buried Treasure 1/1

The Fruits of Industry treasure is on the right after climbing the first ledge after docking. Picking up the treasure gives you the Svartalfheim’s Lifeblood amulet enchantment.

Mining Rigs 1/1

Dock at the Modvitnir’s Rig beach, fight the Wretches and continue upward. Grapple across the gap. Shoot the central contraption twice then make it across the gap. Fight the wretches then shoot the contraption again twice. Climb up the chain. Fight the Bergsra Mother, then interact with the rig.

Althjof’s Rig 100%

Legendary Chests 1/1

Break through the wall by pushing the gantry all the way to the top and grappling across. There, you’ll find a Legendary chest containing the Njord’s Tempest.

Lore 2/2

Break through the wall by pushing the gantry all the way to the top and grappling across. To the right of where you land is the Passion lore scroll.

Break through the floor to find The Squasher Rune Read on the left.

Odin’s Ravens 1/1

Climb up the chain just ahead of the dock and shoot the Odin’s Raven straight ahead.

Mining Rigs 1/1

Climb up the chain and pull down the gantry. Hop across. Blow up the barrel to the left with your Blades. Climb up the ledge and open the gate, then shoot the barrels to open up the area. Go left and climb up. Jump down to break the floor. Pull down the lift, then return to the circular lever and push up the gantry. Head across and climb up. Fight the mobs then switch off the rig. 

Radvinn’s Rig 100%

Nornir Chests 1/1

The Nornir chest is on your left as you climb up the rig. The first rune is immediately left, use the Blades to ignite it. The second is behind you but protected by a fence. Climb to the rig’s upper level and shoot the red pot to ignite the rune. The third is hidden behind two barrels behind the rig. Instruct Atheus to shoot them then fire up the rune. Loot the chest to get a Horn of Blood Mead.

Odin’s Ravens 1/1

Dock and go left at Sindri’s shop. Climb up the ledge, then shoot down the Odin’s Raven perched on a hook.

Mining Rigs 1/1

Dock and go left at Sindri’s shop. Climb up the ledge, make your way up to the rig, and turn it off.

Lyngbakr Island 100%

Legendary Chest 1/1

Once you’re able to pick up and use fire bombs, open the gate on the left, grab and bomb and keep rig to find a pile of rubble. Bomb it, then hop across the gap to find a Legendary chest.

Lore 1/1

After striking the drum at The Watchtower, return to the island and climb nearly as high you can from the main dock. There, you’ll find the Regarding The Removal of Resources Lore Marker.

Artifacts 1/1

From the Lore marker, climb on your left and continue forward across two gaps to find a chest and Kvasir’s Poem – We Who Remain artifact.

Odin’s Ravens 1/1

Pick up a fire bomb and carry it round the right-hand path that opened up after your released the first anchor. Destroy the rubble. Hop across and crawl through the tunnel on your left to find a chest and one of Odin’s Ravens on your left.

The Weight of Chains 1/1

Visiting Lyngbakr Island triggers The Weight of Chains Favour. Shoot the red pot on your right with the Blades and destroy the Wretch nest at the end of the path. Continue up, shoot the next pot. Climb up and pull on the lever, then throw your axe to hold the lift in place. Return to the ledge where you came up and go right to reach the left. Recall your axe and jump to pierce the ground below. Fight and loot the chest to pick up the Watchtower key. Head south to the Watchtower.

Dock at the Watchtower, and take a right at Sindri’s shop. Blow up the red pot and climb up. Use the key and strike the drum.

Return to Lyngbakr Island. Defeat the Draugr, then destroy the red pot inside the building to the right. Cut the anchor and release the creature’s fin. Go through the newly-revealed path. Defeat the Draugr and nightmares, then climb up the chain. Grapple across the gap. There’s another quick fight ahead. Drop down the chain and release the second anchor.

Destroy the nest. Pick up a firebomb and lug it at the pile of rocks next to the anchor point. Loot the chest. Pick up another bomb, jump across the gap, and follow the ledges until Atreus points out a dock. Destroy the rocks on the dock.

Take the boat to the new dock. Make your way up and fight the enemies at the top. Here you can hop across the gap to pick up a firebomb to access the chest should you want to. Otherwise, jump up the short ledge and cut the anchor. Slide down, loot the chest, and release the tail. Board the boat below and paddle to the creature’s eye.

The Watchtower 100% – God of War Ragnarok

Draugr Holes 1/1

Dock at the Watchtower, and take a right at Sindri’s shop. Blow up the red pot and climb up. Ignore the Watchtower and loop round to the Draugr Holes at the back. Defeat the Draugr’s.

Odin’s Ravens 1/1

Next to the Draugr Hole is one of Odin’s Ravens. This one is flying so may take a few tries to take down.

Alberich Island 100% – God of War Ragnarok

Dock and you’ll immediately come across a Berserker Gravestone ahead. Defeating Beigadr The Feared grants the Asgard’s Might amulet enchantment.

The Nornir chest is on your right when you dock. It requires you to shoot all three runes in quick succession within a set time-limit illustrated by the chime emitted when you hit the runes. 

The first rune is to the right of the chest. The second is behind but hidden behind a fence. Instruct Atheus to shoot the wooden crane holding the rune. This moves the rune’s position,  allowing you to shoot it down. The third is to the back of the clearing. You’ll need to throw your axe at the wooden turbine on the left multiple times, then shoot the rune as it peaks above the fence. We recommend doing the third one first then running to hit the other two. Loot the Nornir chest for an Idunn Apple.

Shoot a spear into the wind notch coming out of the wooden structure on the right, then climb up. Ahead is a spirit linked to The Lost Treasure Favor – talk to them to progress the Favor. Move forward to the waterwheel ahead.

Use a sonic arrow to shoot the green rubble on the left, then take out one of Odin’s Raven circling just beyond. Follow the path down, then throw a spear at the weak point on the blockage preventing the wheel from turning. Detonate to get the wheel moving again and raise the lift. Grapple across.

On the left of the pontoon is a Yggdrasil Rift with a Lyrdworm inside, needed for The Lost Lyrdworms Favor. The rift also grants a Gale Spark upgrade.

Grapple across to the island. Look left as you land to find the Washed Ashore Treasure Map below a gear attached to the waterwheel machinery. Climb up the ledge, and look left through a gap in the rocks to find one of Odin’s Ravens.

Opposite the gap is a weak point – throw in a spear and detonate to clear the rock. Follow the path and pull down on the chain, then axe the gear next to where Freya is standing. 

Go back to the pontoon and speak-detonate the weak point on the rock to the right of the geyser. Recall the axe and return to the chain. Pull, then sigil and axe the gear. Recall the axe and throw it at the geyser. Head back to the pontoon and grapple across next to the geyser and recall the axe to raise the lift.

Kill the Wretches then climb to the top of the island to find a Legendary chest – it contains a Jewel of Yggdrasil and looting it progresses The Lost Treasure Favor. Zip line back to the mainland.

Dragon Beach 100% – God of War Ragnarok

Dock at Dragon Beach located in the bottom right hand corner of the Bay of Bounty. Push forward and fight the Grims. Interact with the blue runic text to pick up the Don’t Breathe Rune Read.

On the left is a locked Nornir chest. The first rune is behind the chest and on a ledge above the geyser. The second is hidden behind a geyser and a grate to the right of the chest. You can shoot it from behind. The last rune is behind a geyser facing the bay. Look for the dragon statue then towards the bay to find it. Loot the chest to get a Horn of Blood Mead.

Climb up the chain, plant a spear into the gushing wind point, and climb up. Interact with the spirit to The Lost Treasure favor. Grapple across to the bridge. Go right under the rune-marked log to find a Yggdrasil Rift.

After visiting Alberich Island and picking up the Washed Ashore Treasure Map, go to the huge carcass on the right of the beach. Just next to the creature’s claw is the treasure – supplies and the Jotunheim’s Virtue amulet enchantment. 

After speaking to the son in Alberich Hollow and finding the treasure on Alberich Island, speak to the spirit to complete The Lost Treasure Favor.

The Forge 100% – God of War Ragnarok

After dismounting the train at the top of the mountain, take out the Odin’s Raven circling near the smoky mound ahead of you.

Continue forward and take the left ledge, then a sharp left to find the Bari’s Grenade artifact.

Head up to The Forge proper, next to the gate is The Forge Rune Read.

After going through The Forge gates during the Forging Destiny chapter, press forward until you have to destroy the Nightmare Haunt on the lift. There’s a Legendary chest containing the Atlast Eruption heavy runic attack on the path up to the vista overlooking the lift.

In front of the underwater lift that leads to The Lady, look left and shoot one of Odin’s Ravens sitting on the cliff.

After getting the Draupnir Spear and as you make your way out of the Forge, you’ll need to use the wind notches for the first time. Spear the notch then climb up to the Yggdrasil Rift above – capture a Lindwyrm for the The Lost Lindwyrms Favor.

During your second visit to the Forge after exiting the Myrkr Tunnels entrance, take a right down the wooden ramp, then a left. Hop up the ledge on the right to find a Nornir chest. To the left of the Nornir chest is the Prongfruit ingredient, part of the Across the Realms Favor. 

In the arena where you fought the Dreki during The Quest for Tyr is a Yggdrasil Rift. It’s through the squeeze gap not far from the mountain train at The Forge.

Once you obtained, the spear return to Nornir chest – it’s up from the train station at the top of the mountain as you head towards The Forge proper. To unlock it you’ll need to spear the three runes and then detonate them simultaneously. The first rune is  straight ahead of the chest, out on a rock. The second is left of the chest on a small ledge in the rock. The last rune is near the train station that goes down to the Pitmines, on a rock next to two broken carts.. Stand on the ramp leading down and look left and you can’t miss it. Loot the chest for an Idunn Apple.

Nidavellir 100% – God of War Ragnarok

Disembark at the main Nidavellir dock and head to the large statue of Odin. Shoot one of Odin’s Ravens perched on the roof of the house with the small water wheel towards the back left of the square.

At the foot of the statue is the Shopping List Lore Scroll.

After Sindri gives Atreus sonic arrows, return to the dock. Destroy the vine and grab the Kvasir’s Poem – Large Society Ground Orb, The Performance artifact.

After passing through the sewers, take a the tunnel on the left to find the Griep’s Firebomb artifact.

Berserker Gravestone is just south of the Nidavellir Beach mystic gateway. Fight and defeat the Berserker to get the Asgard’s fortitude amulet enchantment.

Head to the center of Nidavellir to where a bridge is blocked by a barricade. Shoot the gusting wind on the building on the left with the spear and jump across to find the Sparkthorn flower, part of the Nine Realms in Bloom Favor.

Spirit of Rebellion Favor – Interact with Durlin at the Nidavellir Beach mystic gateway after completing the Forging Destiny main path mission.

After visiting Alberich Hollow to progress the Spirit of Rebellion Favor, return to the pub (the home you go through to reach the other side of the town) and speak with Durlin. This completes the Spirit of Rebellion Favor and you get the Splitter line runic attack as a reward.

After forging the Draupnir Spear, go to the north easternmost part of Nidavellir to a town square with a large fire pit in the center. Spear the gusting wind at the back of the area and climb up to find a Legendary chest containing the Luminous Recovery Handles Blades attachment. On the floor next to the chest is the Mining Glory Treasure Map.

Alberich Hollow 100% – God of War Ragnarok

Grapple up to the bridge from Dragon Beach and cross the gap, then carve the missing rune on the left.

Interact with the runs under the statue and loot the red coffin to get the Hammer of the Revolution, part of the Spirit of Rebellion favor. Return to Durin in Nidavellir to complete the Favor.

Enter the cave on the left and defeat the enemies. Grab a bomb and destroy the rubble around the Legendary chest. Loot it to get the second Muspelheim seed piece. Grab another bomb and destroy the rubble ahead. On the left, look up to find one of Odin’s Raven standing to the right of a tree. Fight the enemies, prioritizing the Nokken. 

Break the rubble ahead with a bomb and prepare to take on the Ormstunga mini-boss. The creature is small, but fast and causes massive damage, so play defensively, parrying to get openings. Defeating it gets you the Emblem of Elusion amulet enchantment and Svefnthorn.

Push forward to a rock barring the path forward. Climb up the ledge on the left to find a Yggdrasil Rift with a Lindwyrm inside, needed for The Lost Lindwyrms Favor. Before lifting the rock to move forward, note the gap between the rocks opposite where the Rift was. Grab a bomb and chuck it through to destroy the rubble.

Ahead is another Legendary chest, part of The Lost Treasure Favor. Kick down the chain, then go right to the wooden balcony by the tree to get the Fruits of Industry Treasure Map.

Return to Alberich Hollow after completing the story and head to the massive stone statue close to Dragon Beach.

At its base is a Remnants of Asgard spot. Defeat the enemies and loot the red coffin.

Sverd Sands 100%

• A Viking Funeral

Complete A Viking Funeral favor after completing the main store. You’ll need to travel to the tavern in the center of Nidavellir where you met Raeb at the start of the game, then visit Sverd Sands.

The Applecore 100% – God of War Ragnarok

After the log flume ride into The Applecore, exit the boat, and push forward, then instruct Atreus to shoot the green glowing buckle to uncover The Vault Rune Read.

Complete the water wheel puzzle ahead, grapple across, then squeeze through the hole at the back. Defeat the enemies ahead and stick right to find the Cooperation Lore Marker.

Retrace your steps and go left. Press forward and solve the next puzzle. Shoot the red pots to clear the path, then squeeze under the water channel. Open the door at the back, and grab the Althjof’s Stature, part of the Things Left Behind artifact collection.

After squeezing through the gap with the dwarf body stuck in it, grapple across the gap, stick right until you can grapple across another gap on your left. Jump down the ledge to grab the Durinn’s Stone Statue, part of the Things Left Behind collection.

Go through the door on the right to find a Draugr Hole and a Legendary chest at the back.

Continue through the mine until there’s a short ledge you can shimmy along. The raven is on the left of the ledge.

Once you’ve picked up the spear, return to The Applecore via Sverd Sands then down the lift into the mines. Ahead is a mystic gateway. Take a right and follow the path down until it opens up into a circle. Shoot the wind notch on the right and climb up to find the Demise of Dagestr Treasure map. 

Continue following the path up from the map to find a Nornir chest. You’ll need to spear all three runes, then detonate them at the same time to open the chest. The first two runes on the left on platforms hanging from the mine ceiling. To find the third, head up the ledges to the right of the chest, and look back and left. Loot the chest for a Horn of Blood Mead.

Return to the circular clearing and head deeper into the mine. Spear the wind notch and climb up.

Ahead is a weak point in a boulder. Spear and detonate it, then head forward.

Grab the red coffin on the left, and the Kvasir’s Poem – Sanguinity artifact, then grapple across on the right to find a small chest and further on, a chain and a path further into the mine.

Drop down and fight a troll named Miklimunnr to get the Hind of the Four Winds spear handle. Head through the crawl space.

Press forward, head through the large wooden door, and shimmy along the ledge on your right. Follow the path left and jump across the gap with a stream of water gushing down. Make your way to the bottom of the tower with the circular path running up and down it to where you can jump over the log flume-like track to find the Mining Glory treasure – supplies and the Muspeheim’s Blessing amulet enchantment.

Near The Applecore mystic gateway is one of the Yggdrasil Rifts. Interact with it to get Lyndwyrm and further The Lost Lyndwirms favor. Interact with the rift again to close it and get a Gale Spark.

Right of the gateway is a Nornir chest. To unlock it, spear all the runes and detonate them at the same time. The first rune is opposite the gateway. The second is around the corner from the first, concealed behind some rubble – shoot the red pot to reveal it. The third is hidden behind water flowing from a channel to the right of the chest. You’ll need to freeze the water in the channel. To do so, hop across the gap with the wind spear, then stand near the small chest on your left. Aim the axe at the back of the channel to the right of the large pillar. Head back up to the ledge overlooking the channel and spear the rune. Loot the Nornir chest for an Idunn Apple.

From The Applecore mystic gateway, head towards the Jarnsmida Pitmines. When you start to see daylight and the pitmines proper, look out on your left for a rune carve monument.

Interact and carve the rune to reveal a hidden room on your right with a Legendary chest inside. It contains the Banahogg Knob axe attachment.

Jarnsmida Pitmines 100 % – God of War Ragnarok

When you arrive at the mines via train for the first time, head down the chain near the water. There’s one of Odin’s Ravens circling above the water and the Lofnheid’s Whetstone, part of the Things Left Behind artifact collection, on the floor next to a chest.

Push forward to the point where you need to freeze a channel to lower the platform in front and grapple across. Ahead is a Nornir chest. Light up the rune brazier on the left. Drop down left, loot the chest, and freeze the channel again then ignite the rune brazier. Grapple across the gap and light the third brazier. Before returning to the chest and picking up an Idunn Apple, grab the The Pit-Mine Rune Read on to the left.

While solving the massive crane puzzle, climb onto the rock, and swing the crane to reach a ledge at the back of the Pitmines. Hop across once it’s come to standstill. Ahead you’ll find the Kvasir’s Poem – Tool and Bang and a Legendary chest.

After visiting King’s Grave in Midgard for the first time, a Berserker Gravestone unlocks in the Pitmines. It’s located just outside the entrance to the mines. Defeating Bodvar The Fierce and Starolfr The Troublesome grants a Gale Flame and Hind of the Nine Realms spear handle.

After completing the story, you’ll find a Remnants of Asgard spot just north of the Jarnsmida Pitmines mystic gateway. Take out the enemies then loot the red coffin.

Myrkr Tunnels 100% – God of War Ragnarok

Nornir Chest 1/1

After clearing the first water channel puzzle in the tunnels, go through the gate and crawl through to a room with a Nornir chest. The first rune is on the left as you enter the room. The second is down the left-hand corridor – axe the large barrel to release oil then chain sigils and use the Blades to ignite the brazier. To find the third rune, face the chest and turn around, walk down the corridor and look for a stack of barrels in a small alcove – the rune is behind the barrels. Loot the chest for Horn of Blood Mead.

Legendary Chest 1/1

Continue through the tunnels until you have to push a cart to proceed. Head left after the cart to find a Legendary chest.

Yggdrasil Rifts 1/1

Before raising the gate to climb up and reach The Forge, you’ll find an Yggdrasil Rift.
