Have you ever wanted to jam out some beats in Genshin Impact? Using the Vintage Lyre or the Windsong Lyre, you can play almost any song you please.

You can equip the lyre as a gadget and play it whenever you like. If you’ve played for a while, you might have the Windsong Lyre from an old event. If you missed it, the Vintage Lyre is gained as part of a questline in Sumeru.

People have been getting creative, and it’s a beautiful thing to see. For more Genshin, read our pages covering Genshin Impact codes and where to find Naku Weed. See our list of the best Genshin Impact lyre song notes.

How to use the Vintage and Windsong Lyre in Genshin Impact

To use the lyre, you need to get one first. If you played the 1.4 event, Invitation of Windblume, you will have the Windsong Lyre from that. Otherwise, you will need the Vintage Lyre that you get from the Aranyaka quesline in Sumeru. Once you have either lyre, you can equip it as a Gadget in your inventory and start playing.

Whether you want to create your own melodies or play your favourite song, the lyre in Genshin has a fairly robust system to it, letting you bash out the likes of Never Gonna Give You Up, My Heart Will Go On, I Want It That Way, Megalovania, Country Roads, and so much more.

If you’re playing on PC you can use either the keyboard or the mouse to play notes. On the keyboard, the top row of notes (treble clef) is mapped to the letters Q to U, the middle row (alto clef) from A to J, and the bottom row (bass clef) from Z to M.

Those using a controller or on the PlayStation will see the notes from ‘do’ to ‘ti’ mapped to the d-pad and Square, Triangle, and Circle. If you hold down L1, you can lower the tone while R1 raises it.
