The Sword of Narzissenkreuz can only be claimed after completing almost every quest in the series, which can be done as of patch 4.2. The quest chain begins within Annapausis and you must complete several quests to continue the chain.

How to get the Sword of Narzissenkreuz

To get the Sword of Narzissenkreuz, you must complete all the Narzissenkreuz-related quests up to the moments after beating the Narzissenkreuz boss fight. When you reunite everyone with Mary-Ann and finish the dialogue, you will be rewarded with the Sword of Narzissenkreuz.

This quest chain began back in 4.0, and it involved the characters Seymour, Ann, and Caterpillar. All of these NPCs have a quest relating to them and they eventually meet up when you get to Initial Facts. The exact moment you get the sword is during the Rowboat’s Wake quest after the quest takes you to the Morte Region of Fontaine.

To begin the very start of the quest chain, all you need to do is swim to Annapausis, which is located to the west of Fontaine city and enter the area. The quest will trigger and you don’t need to do anything else for it to unlock.

Drained Conch Cups and how to refine the Sword of Narzissenkreuz

Once you have the Sword of Narzissenkreuz, you can refine it using a special material. As you explore Fontaine, you may have come across a quest item called Drained Conch Cup. These items are what you need to refine the Sword of Narzissenkreuz, but they need to be activated first.

With your Sword of Narzissenkreuz in hand and your four Drained Conch Cups, travel to Annapausis. Go in from the teleport waypoint and head left towards a small fountain. Interact with the fountain and you will see a dialogue choice to offer up a Drained Conch Cup. Do this and it will convert it into a Surging Sacred Chalice. Do this with your four Drained Conch Cups and you will be able to refine the Sword of Narzissenkreuz to R5.
