Wondering about the Genshin Impact 4.0 banners? With the launch of patch 4.0, Genshin Impact is introducing Fontaine – a brand new area to explore – as well as new characters Lyney and Lynette to kick things off in the first banner.
With the Genshin Impact 4.0 release date will come new banners to wish on, and the first phase banner of 4.0 is Lyney, a new five-star Pyro character. Appearing alongside Lyney are four-star characters Bennett, Barbara, and Lynette, the latter of which is a new character. The second banner in this phase has Yelan as the featured five-star, a strong Hydro DPS. In phase two, another new four-star character Freminet will make his debut.
As is the new norm in Genshin, there are two banner phases during every update, which means we get six event banners to wish on throughout the patch, including weapon banners. Let’s take a look at the banners and phases.
The new banners will be available with the launch of patch 4.0. We have Lyney’s first banner as a new Fontaine character. Running at the same time will be a re-run of Yelan’s banner. Phase one will run until September 5, 2023.
Both of these banners have three four-star characters who will have a boosted drop rate if you wish on either banner. The featured characters are:
- Lyney: New five-star Pyro bow user.
- Yelan: Five-star Hydro bow user.
- Lynette: New four-star Anemo sword user.
- Barbara: Four-star Hydro catalyst user.
- Bennett: Four-star Pyro sword user.
Wishes on Lyney or Yelan’s banner will have the same drop chance for these four-star characters. As ever, the featured five-star is only attainable on their respective banner.
Alongside these two character banners will be the weapon banner, which will have Lyney’s best-in-slot bow – a new weapon called the First Great Magic – and you have a chance to get the Aqua Simulacra bow, which is one of the best weapons for Yelan in Genshin Impact.
Genshin 4.0 was worth the wait
This is one of the stronger weapon banner line ups we’ve seen in a while – and with Fontaine, Genshin update 4.0 is a well-rounded patch that gives seasoned players plenty of new content and mechanics, whilst also enticing new fans.
This weapon banner is a rare case of being slightly more worthwhile than most we’ve seen. Not only do you have a chance to get two five-star bows, the Favonius and Sacrificial weapons are extremely useful, especially if you want to refine your weapons. During this banner, you will have a higher chance of getting the following four-star weapons:
- Sacrificial Sword
- Sacrificial Bow
- Sacrificial Fragments
- Favonius Lance
- Favonius Greatsword
Genshin Impact 4.0’s phase two banners will begin on September 5, 2023, immediately after the end of the previous banners. While the two featured five-star characters getting a re-run are Zhongli and Tartaglia (Childe), there will be a new four-star character called Freminet making his debut. Phase two will run until September 26. All the confirmed characters on these banners are:
- Zhongli: Five-star Geo polearm user.
- Tartaglia: Five-star Hydro bow user.
- Freminet: New four-star Cryo Claymore user.
- Sayu: Four-star Anemo Claymore user.
- Noelle: Four-star Geo Claymore user.
Freminet is a new character who is from Fontaine. He is a diver and a four-star Cryo Claymore user. In terms of the lore, Freminet, Lynette, and Lyney are all related.
This banner will run until September 26, which is when we expect the Genshin Impact Wriothesley banner release date. We can assume this release window is accurate based on how long previous Genshin updates last. Hoyoverse has now revealed the full lineup of four-star characters on the event banner.
We now know the weapon banner details for phase two of Genshin Impact 4.0 banners. Hoyoverse revealed the weapons that will be on this banner during phase two when it begins on September 5, 2023. Our speculation was correct, and the two featured five-star weapons that accompany character banners are their signature weapons.
Since Zhongli and Tartaglia are the five-star characters on the banner during phase two, it has been confirmed the weapons on the Epitome Invocation weapon banner will be the Polar Star – Tartaglia’s five-star bow – and the Vortex Vanquisher polearm, which is Zhongli’s signature weapon. Here is everything that will be on the phase two Genshin Impact 4.0 weapon banner:
- Vortex Vanquisher (Polearm)
- Polar Star (Bow)
- The Flute (Sword)
- Sacrificial Greatsword (Claymore)
- Dragon’s Bane (Polearm)
- The Widsith (Catalyst)
- Rust (Bow)
All of these weapons will be featured on the banners when phase two begins. That covers the Genshin Impact 4.0 banners. Check out our Genshin Impact – best Nahida team compositions and Genshin Impact 4.0 patch notes guides for more information.
