Doing so will unlock a teleport waypoint in Sumeru, letting you make your way to Fontaine as early as you like. HoYoverse skipped 3.9 entirely, hence why we’re now looking at update 4.0. When does Genshin 4.0 come out?
Genshin Impact’s 4.0 update will go live on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, according to the official announcement from HoYoverse during a special live stream program showing off the upcoming Fontaine region and other information for the patch. The Genshin Impact 4.0 release date will mark the first banner for Lyney, a new five-star Pyro character.
With the release of 4.0, underwater exploration and combat will also be added, bringing a brand-new mechanic to the game. It’s been something people have been asking for a lot, and it’s going to offer a brand new way to explore the environment – so we’re pretty excited.
From trailers, we know Fontaine is the domain of the Hydro Archon, Furina. It’s a water-filled landscape and it draws obvious inspiration from French architecture, and names, and it has something of a steam-punk style with clockwork robots and mechanisms dotted about.
Genshin Impact 4.0 start time – when does it go live?
The Genshin Impact 4.0 update release will be 4 am BST for those in the UK and 11 pm EDT / 10 pm CDT /8 pm PDT for those in the US. This start time was announced by HoYoverse in an official blog post on its website.
