With the Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean crossover bringing all sorts of pirate-themed characters and items to the game, it’s also brought with it a selection of quests to complete to unlock rewards. One of these quests requires you to find a Jar of Dirt in a match and deliver it to Captain Jack Sparrow.
We’ve made this quick guide to explain the quest in full, telling you exactly where you can find the Jar of Dirt, and where you’ll find Jack Sparrow on the map so you can deliver it to him and even get a couple of items from him as well. With that, let’s take a look.

Where to find the Jar of Dirt in Fortnite
The Jar of Dirt can be found in the southern desert biome of the map, just nearby a section of railway track. We’ve marked the exact area on the map above, but you can go into your Quest menu and track the quest to mark the location on your in-game map.
Simply head to this location and collect the Jar of Dirt to unlock the next section of the quest, delivering it to Jack Sparrow. Don’t worry, if you don’t manage to deliver it in this match, you won’t have to get the Jar of Dirt again and can head straight to Jack.

Where is Jack Sparrow in Fortnite?
Jack Sparrow is located on the east coast of the map, just southeast of Grand Glacier. He’s standing on a small beach next to a cave with his ship, the Black Pearl floating in the sea just offshore (not quite as impressive as the Ship in a Bottle). Again, we’ve marked the location on the map above for easy reference.
Once you’ve got the Jar of Dirt, all you’ve got to do is talk to Jack and go through a few dialogue options. He’ll ask for the Jar of Dirt and once you’ve given it to him, you’ll complete the quest and in typical Jack Sparrow fashion he’ll immediately tell you to “bugger off”.
