Looking for the best Final Fantasy 16 weapons? There’s no doubt that the most coveted and powerful weapon in Final Fantasy 16 is the Gotterdammerung, an upgraded form of the ever-so-slightly less lethal Ragnarok. But, it doesn’t become available until quite late in the game and takes some serious leg work to forge.

We’ll walk you through how to get your hands on the Gotterdammerung and a couple other of the best Final Fantasy 16 weapons. If you’re looking to streamline your build, check out the best Final Fantasy 16 abilities and the best Final Fantasy 16 combos.

Here are the best weapons in Final Fantasy 16 and how to get them:

Ragnarok

With 325 attack and 325 stagger, Ragnarok is among the best Final Fantasy 16 weapons. To acquire it, you’ll need to complete the Blacksmith’s Blues I, Blacksmith’s Blues II, Blacksmith’s Blues III, Blacksmith’s Blues IV side quests. Here’s when they unlock:

  • Blacksmith’s Blues I – unlocks at The Hideaway after you start the Home, Sweet Home main story quest.
  • Blacksmith’s Blues II – unlocks once you complete the Weird Science side quest at The Hideaway, which has you gathering materials for Mid.
  • Blacksmith’s Blues III – unlocks once you start the A Song of Hope main story quest.
  • Blacksmith’s Blues IV – unlocks after you’ve started the Across the Narrow main story quest and acquired Jill’s Shive Eikon abilities.

The quests match the typical format of the game’s side quest and aren’t anything too taxing, just somewhat time consuming. Once you’ve finished Blacksmith’s Blues IV, Blackthorne will hand over the Ragnarok sword.
