What are the best Final Fantasy 16 combos? Square Enix’s decision to pivot completely to real-time combat has opened the door for some fairly in-depth combat options, notably when it comes to combining attacks and abilities to devastating effects.

The problem is figuring out what is the best series of attacks to chain together. We’ll walk you through the best Final Fantasy 16 combos that served us well during our playthrough of Square Enix’s latest RPG. To complement this, we recommend brushing up on the Final Fantasy 16 abilities list and learning how to reset abilities in Final Fantasy 16 in case you want to vary your build.

Here are the best combos in Final Fantasy 16:

  • Flames of Rebirth + Diamond Dust + Earthen Fury – chaining these three delivers massive damage to enemies big and small. They are what we described as ultimate Eikon abilities, so the cooldowns are quite long, but well worth the wait. Unleashed on a pack of basic enemies, you’ll chew through them without having to dish a single normal attack.
  • Rising Flames + Scarlet Cyclone – Use Rising Flame to launch an enemy into the air, then follow it up with Scarlet Cyclone for big ending damage.
  • Ice Age + Deadly Embrace + Rising Flames + Downthrust – Ice Age launches enemies forward then launches then into the air. Follow it up with Deadly Embrace, which pulls them to you, then unleash Rising Flames to launch them into the air, and finish off with Downthrust.
  • Deadly Embrace + Windup – Deadly Embrace pulls an enemy towards Clive. Follow this up with Windup (get the gauge into the red) for big damage and spectacular finish. Additionally, Windup takes a huge chunk out of enemy Will, shortening the time-to-stagger.
  • Torgal’s Ravage + Phoenix Shift + Downthrust + Earthen Fury – Torgal’s Ravage launches an enemy up into the air, then Phoenix Shift closes the distance while launching Clive into the air as well. Use Downthrust to bring them down to earth and finally unleash Earthen Fury to catapult them backwards
