Wondering how to get Orichalcum in Final Fantasy 16? As you approach the later chapters of Final Fantasy 16’s story, you’ll see Orichalcum pop up at The Black Hammer blacksmith in The Hideaway as a material needed to craft some of the game’s best weapons, including the Gotterdammerung sword. It’s yellow colour coding implies it’s one of the rarest in the game, which can make tracking it down tricky.

We’ll explain how to get Orichalcum in Final Fantasy 16. If you’re in need of other rare crafting materials, check out how to get Morbol Flower in Final Fantasy 16 and how to get Electrum in Final Fantasy 16.

Where to get Orichalcum in Final Fantasy 16

In Final Fantasy 16, you get Orichalcum for defeating the Atlas The Breaker of Worlds, Gorgimera The Tricephalic Terror, Svarog Ruin Reawakened, and Behemoth King Notorious marks, along with completing the Under New Management II and Duty Undying II side quests.

By visiting the Hunt Board in the Hideaway, you’ll get a vague hint about Atlas being somewhere in Rosaria, but little else in terms of a concrete location. Atlas spawns in a clearing in the east of Cressida, which is east of Martha’s Rest and southeast of Eastpool in the northern part of Rosaria. The fastest way to get there is to fast travel into the Eastpool Obelisk, then head south until you hit Cressida. Continue on to the bridge. At this point, you’ll be forced off your chocobo and will need to continue on foot. Continue east and you’ll arrive at the clearing.

Atlas is an S rank, level 45 boss and poses a solid challenge. We recommend taking on the fight at level 40 or above to give yourself a fighting chance. Upgraded Eikon abilities work well here and it’s a case of staggering Atlas, then unleashing as much damage as possible quickly. Most of Atlas’ attacks are reasonably well telegraphed so shouldn’t be too difficult to avoid. After defeating Atlas, you’ll get a bunch of renown, gil, Fallen Iron, and, more importantly, Orichalcum.

As for Gorgimera The Tricephalic Terror, you’ll find this Notorious Mark in the west of The Velkroy Desert in The Dhalmekian Republic. The specific location is northwest of The Dalimil Inn and south of The Velkroy Desert Obelisk. Gorgimera is level 45, S-rank Notorious Mark so the same preparation applies as for Atlas. Defeat Gorgimera to earn Orichalcum, gil, experience, and renown.

Defeating Svarog Ruin Reawakened also gives you Orichalcum. You’ll find this Notorious Mark in Mornebrume in southeast Sanbreque. From the Caer Norvent Glorieuse Gate Obelisk, head east down the path leading to the Mornebrune. You’ll find Svarog in the clearing at the end of the path.

The Behemoth King also drops Orichalcum as a reward when defeated. The mark is found just southwest of the Vidargraes Obelisk in Waloed, but won’t spawn until you start the Back to Their Origin main story quest.

The last way to get Orichalcum is to complete the Under New Management II side quest, which has Clive helping out Isabelle in Northreach to fend off Akashic. The side quest isn’t available until the very last portion of the game, specifically once you’ve started the Back to Their Origin main story quest. The same goes for the Duty Undying II side quest, which takes you to Mikkelberg to investigate a curious new religion.
