- No, Fallout London will not work with Game Pass versions of Fallout 4
- Game Pass’ file architecture makes modding much more difficult
- The best places to get a PC copy of Fallout 4 are Steam and GOG
One of the most exciting games set to release this year isn’t actually a game. Fallout London, a mod for Bethesda’s Fallout 4 is set to bring the apocalyptic RPG to the rainy streets of the UK and a city strewn with the remains of our once okay-ish civilisation.
Fallout 4 has been on Game Pass for some time now, and there are plenty of players out there that have only ever played this version of the game. So if you’re one of these players and are wondering if the Fallout London mod will work with your Game Pass version of the game, we’re here to answer your questions.
Can you play Fallout London through Game Pass?
Rather annoyingly, if you’ve been playing Fallout 4 through Game Pass, you won’t be able to play Fallout London too. While modding games on PC is typically the way to go, Game Pass’ approach to file architecture makes modding games much more difficult than usual, meaning if you want to play Fallout London, you’re going to have to buy yourself a full copy of Fallout 4 from another store.
Your best bet is probably going to be old reliable Steam. At the time of writing, the base version of Fallout 4 is only £15.99 / $19.99. However, it should be noted that you’ll need all the DLC (bar the HD re-texture), so you should really take a look at picking up the Game of the Year Edition for £34.99 / $39.99.
If you prefer to get your games on GOG, then at the time of writing you can currently get the Fallout 4 GOTY Edition for only £13.99 / $17.71. This is an especially good option as you’ll have to install the Fallout London mod via GOG anyway, making things a bit more streamlined. You’ll still be able to play Fallout London if you’re got the game on Steam, it’ll just have a couple of extra steps.
