Things are a little different with Icons this season. In FC 24, Icon players will follow the path trodden by the EA FC Hero items. This means that there will be one base version of each legend, with campaign versions of the players following throughout the season cycle. As you would expect, following the changes, there have been some alterations to the attributes of some players.

We will still have our favourite Icons in the game. Pele, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Xabi Alonso, Johan Cruyff, Roberto Carlos, Ruud Gullit, Jairzinho, Didier Drogba, and many more remain in the game from launch.

FC 24 Icon Chemistry explained

Icons are not only valuable for their brilliant ratings, but also for their squad building contributions. Each Icon will add a single chemistry point to players from any league, in addition to a bonus chemistry point to all players that match their nationality. This obviously makes some Icons more valuable than others in this regard, but each Icon will always play on full chemistry if playing in the correct position.

Icons wishlist

Sadly, some of our wishes haven’t come true for FC 24. While Franck Ribery has arrived, his former partner in crime Arjen Robben remains out of the game. Despite the leaks suggesting otherwise, Man City and Argentina legend Sergio Aguero remains high on our wishlist for future Icons. Italy legend Francesco Totti is also a must for the game. One of the few one-club legends of this era, Totti would go down a storm among football fans.

Some of the players we wanted have arrived in the form of FC 24 FUT Heroes. City legend Vincent Kompany will be one of the new Heroes, with his UCL item already unveiled. Ex-Barcelona and France international Ludovic Giuly is also among the Heroes, rather than Icons. Jari Litmanen and Rui Costa have also seen their status as an Icon change to a Hero for this season.

Will EA Sports FC have Icons?

Yes, Icons will be included in EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team.

Why isn’t Maradona in FIFA?

Diego Maradona is no longer in FIFA as his image rights belong to his lawyer. EA does not currently have an agreement in place for Maradona to feature in the game.
