- Press Y/Triangle as the ball approaches you to intercept a pass
- Higher rated defenders will intercept more consistently
- You can hone your interception timing in practice mode
When your opponent throws a pass in College Football 25, you might find yourself getting a player in the way but never seeming to make the catch. An intercepted pass can be one of the best ways to win back possession, and if you’re lucky it could lead to you powering down the other end of the field and scoring.
So if you’re struggling to pull off any interceptions, you’re not alone, as it’s a fairly tricky business. That’s why we’ve put together a guide to help you get your interception game sorted and hopefully, it’ll help your team score some pretty spectacular touchdowns.
How to intercept in College Football 25
In College Football 25, simply getting your player in the way of an opponent’s pass is not enough to intercept it, as you’ll simply block the ball. Instead, you have to press Y/Triangle as the ball is coming towards your player to catch it. That being said, you’ll still need to make sure your positioning is spot on, otherwise you won’t be able to catch it.
Of course, one easy way to make sure you’re getting more interceptions is to have higher-rated defenders. But that’s not always possible, so here are a few tips to help you get a little more consistent at pulling off more interceptions:
- Press B/Circle when the quarterback makes the pass, and you’ll immediately switch to controlling the closest defender to the receiver. Doing this early can help you get in position to make the interception
- Staying inside the receiver means that you’ll have a better chance of preventing the receiver from getting a clean catch. That being said, this can be risky, as if you completely miss a catch, you could give your opponent free reign to score, so don’t be afraid to go for a block if you’re only up by a few points.
- If you’re struggling with the timing of interceptions, you can head into practice mode and work on your positioning and timing. Once you’ve got the knack, it’ll be much easier for you to pull it off in a real game.
