Struggling to find out how to play online in FC 24? The wait is finally over! FC 24 is here and, for those that have the game, your new season can officially begin.

For some time, we’ve wondered just how this new game will fare following EA’s break away from FIFA, but the early signs are looking good. We have already put plenty of hours in the game, so check out our FC 24 review.

A key element that remains more important than ever is online multiplayer, with a multitude of modes offering the chance to battle against other players online.

With that in mind, here is how you can enjoy online gameplay in FC 24.

How to play online in FC 24

A far cry from the early days of the FIFA era, FC 24 is very much a game that places importance on online multiplayer.

The innovations in this field have been vast in recent years, with cross-play compatibility now being added to all major modes in this year’s game.

Online multiplayer can be found in pretty much every corner of FC 24, from flagship modes like FC 24 Ultimate Team to smaller modes like Seasons.

FC 24 Clubs (formerly Pro Clubs) and VOLTA also offer online gameplay, meaning you can take to the multiplayer pitch across many of FC 24’s major modes.

In order to play online, you will need both an internet connection and a subscription to an online pass, such as PlayStation Network or Xbox Live.

Whilst you can enjoy FC 24 without a connection, you will be limited to offline modes like kick-off and FC 24 Career Mode.

Ultimate Team can only be accessed with an internet connection, as you have to be connected to the EA Servers in order to gain access to the mode.

That being said, you can play Ultimate Team without a premium live subscription to either Xbox Live or PS Network. However, you will be limited to offline modes like Squad Battles.

For the best results during online play in FC 24, we’d recommend using an ethernet cable if possible, as relying on a wireless connection can lead to lag.

As mentioned above, online play in FC 24 can be enjoyed across multiple modes, but there are times when scheduled EA maintenance causes the servers to go down.

Make sure you know how to add, invite, and play with friends in FC 24 too, to really make the most of all that online play has to offer.
