Dead Space Remake makes excellent use of its setting. The Inhospitable Ishimura, with its vast chambers and claustrophobic corridors, lends itself to cinematic moments. One of the most striking is the centrifuge puzzle during Dead Space Remake Chapter 3 ā Course Correction. Let loose in a zero gravity chamber, Isaac is tasked with preventing planetfall.
As Dead Space Remake puzzles go, itās a head-scratcher for those unacquainted with the 2008 original. Using the locator offers no help, and youāre left to decipher what to do from a brief journal entry.
The key to solving the Dead Space Remake centrifuge puzzle is to attach the Clutch Generator Modules to the centrifuge as per the instructions on a screen perched high up on a railing in the zero-gravity chamber.

How to Attach the Clutch Generator Modules in Dead Space Remake
Looking at the centrifuge, youāll see two rails jutting out from the centrifuge with a shipping container-shaped module at each end. Both have rotating gears emitting a gray-blue light aimed at the centrifuge. These are the Clutch Generator Modules. They are located on opposite sides of the centrifuge.
As the āG.R.I.P Enabledā magnet marking on the side of them indicates, you can use Kinesis to move them toward the centrifuge. However, moving them up close to the centrifuge has them immediately dart back to their original position.
To avoid this, use Stasis to slow down the rotating gear, then Kinesis to move and slot it into the centrifuge. For a deeper dive into using Stasis, check out our dedicated guide. Repeat for the second Clutch Generator Module.
To restart the centrifuge, thrust to the upper railed walkway. Land on the section to the right of the large screen on the wall of the chamber displaying the centrifuge status. Here, youāll find a screen ā the same as the one with the previous attach Clutch Generator Module message. Interact with is to restart the centrifuge.
Manually Ignite the Engines
With the centrifuge whirling around, your next objective in Dead Space Remake is to Manually Ignite the Engines. From the display screen, turn around and take the elevator down.
Step out and take a left but watch out for the moving centrifuge arms. There are small openings along the edge of the walkway at regular intervals. Time your movement to avoid getting bashed by the arm, using the gaps as you go. The second includes an oxygen recharge station should you need a top-up. A few Necromorphs spawn along the way, so be prepared to take them out, too.
Reach the third opening and ride the elevator up. Take a right, kill the enemy, then go through the door on your right. Youāll exit the vacuum here, so there is no need to worry about oxygen levels anymore. Press forward and free Isaac from the Necromorphās grasp by aiming for the orange bulbs on its body.
Follow the locator path back to the Control Room and then to the Engine Room. Here, thereās another zero-gravity area. The door at the other end has no power. Use Stasis on one of the large fans on the left, then head through. Interact with the Circuit Breaker to route power to the other door ā Airlock 1. Turn off the Fans as well while youāre there. Watch out for the enemy that pops out behind you.
Head through the now-powered door. Continue forward and shoot the orange bulb ahead to clear the door in front of you. Grab the Flamethrower, then continue forward. From here, the route is self-explanatory, so weāll leave you to prevent planetfall.
