Assassin’s Creed Shadows trophy guide

For those who haven’t had their fill after hitting the story credits, there are no less than 55 trophies and achievements to tick off in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Fortunately, none of them are missable, which makes this a relatively easy run as trophy hunting goes. The only exception is the Scouting Mission trophy, which will only pop if you have Guided Mode turned off. They cover the usually spread of story-related milestones, combat feats, side quests, ability unlocks, and collectibles.

We’d wager most players can unlock all trophies in well under 80 hours. Most will need at least 50 hours like we did for our review. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to unlock every trophy in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Made You Look!	Look for treasure behind the waterfall in the Hideout	Enter the secret cave behind the waterfall to east of the Hideout.
Art of Ninjutsu	Master the way of the shinobi	Unlock every skill and passive in Naoe’s Shinobi skill tree in the Mastery tab. You’ll need to complete the Genzaburo Soldiers quest in Harima and The Yokai side quest to unlock all skill tree nodes.
Art of Kenjutsu	Master the way of the samurai	Unlock every skill and passive in Yasuke’s Samurai skill tree in the Mastery tab. Complete the Nobutsuna’s Students, Fallen Soldiers, and Yamabushi Imposters quest to unlock all nodes.
Make it Personal	Engrave your first weapon	Build a Forge at your Hideout and upgrade it to level 2 to unlock engraving.
Better than a Bucket	Equip legendary gear in all slots	Fully equip either Naoe or Yasuke with 5 Legendary rarity weapons and armor – one for each slot. You’ll receive tons of legendary gear as rewards for completing quests and looting chests. Avoid selling or dismantling any before you’ve unlocked the trophy.
Limitless	Find a legendary piece of gear of each type	Follow the story and complete side quests to find enough to trigger the trophy. You’ll need one for the following gear: Katana, Kusarigama, Tanto, Headwear, Light Armor, Trinket, Long Katana, Naginata, Kanabo, Bow, Teppo, Helmet, Armor, and Amulet.
In Case of Trouble	Fully upgrade your tools and ammunition	Unlock all skills and passive in Naoe’s Tools skill tree and Yasuke’s Teppo skill tree in the Mastery tab.
Suture Self	Fully upgrade your rations	Build the Zashiki (The Iron Hand Guild quest) and Team Room (Tea Bowls of Rikyo side quest) in the Hideout then complete the Feast for Thought side quest in Wakasa by buying 15 food items from vendors across Japan.
Sometimes	Perform a landing roll	Unlock Naoe’s Shinob Igan Roll skill. Jump from a high point (castle, ledge, roof, house, tree – it doesn’t matter) and roll just before hitting the ground to reduce fall damage.
Reeding is Fundamental	Escape conflict by using a breathing reed to hide in shallow water	Unlock Naoe’s Shinobi Shallow Water Breathing skill then use it in shallow water to evade alerted enemies.
Just Your Shadow	Distract the same enemy 3 times with Shinobi Bells	Unlock Naoe’s Tools Shinobi Bell skill then throw a bell at the same enemy three times, making sure they pick up the bell each time.
Hook, Line, and Swinger	Stay airborne by swinging from one grappling hook point to another	Swing to a grappling hook point then to another without touching the ground. Reliable places to do this are castle rooftops and the caves in Kofun across Japan.
Acrobatics	Perform a leap of faith from a grappling hook swing	You can do this just north of Amagasaki Castle in Izumi Settsu. Grapple hook onto the tree and leap of faith into the haystack near Muko Post Town.
Adept Shinobi	Perform your first assassination	Unlocked during the Prologue at the start of the game.
Master Shinobi	Assassinate an enemy through a shoji door	Unlock Naoe’s Assassin Shoji Door Assassin skill then assassinate an enemy through a sliding rice paper door. Castles are reliable spots for this.
Unseen	Perform 5 assassinations in a row without being noticed or entering combat	Perform five successive stealth kills without alerting guards or entering direct combat. You should be able to tick it off any of the Castles or other enemy camps.
Giant Slayer	Assassinate a powerful guardian in one go	Enter a Castle and harass the guards to get their attention and force them to ring the bell. This will summon a Guardian enemy. Hide then when assassinate the Guardian.
Adept Samurai	Perform your first Finisher as Yasuke	Unmissable Prologue event.
Master Samurai	Parry an incoming projectile	Parry any sort of projectile while playing as Yasuke. Arrows tend to work best. Look for archers in castles.
Unstoppable	Use Samurai Stand before performing a Finisher on an enemy	Unlock Yasuke’s Samurai Stand skill (available after completing the Nobutsuna’s Students side quest in Omi). Activate the ability then last hit an enemy to perform a finisher.
This is Japan, Actually	Kick an enemy from a high place	Unlock Yasuke’s Samurai War Kick skill, then kick an enemy from a cliff or high point in a castle using the ability.
Overdesign III	Perform a Finisher on an enemy that is both Poisoned and Dazed	Equip Naoe or Yasuke with weapons that deal Poison and Daze damage. Attack an enemy with the Poison weapon until the affliction icon pops above their head, then switch to the Daze weapon then attack until the gauge fills up. Kill them with a melee finisher (a normal melee attack will do as long as they are low health).
Final Hearing	Sheath your weapon immediately after an enemy dies from Bleed	Equip Naoe or Yasuke with a weapon that has Bleed damage. Attack an enemy with the weapon until the Bleed affliction gauge above their head is full. Let them bleed out and just as they die, sheath your weapon.
Adventurer	Shoot an enemy in the knee with an arrow	Playing as Yasuke, equip a bow and shoot an enemy in the knee.
Test Your Might	Defeat the final enemy in the tournament	Complete The Tournament quest in Izumi Settsu.
Kofun Raider	Complete your first kofun	Complete a Kofun by finding the treasure hidden inside. For example, Old Kufun and Makino Kurumazuka Kofun, both in Izumi Settsu.
Good Form	Complete your first kata	Complete any of Yasuke’s Kata side activities.
Zen Master	Complete all Kuji-kiri	Complete all 22 of Naoe’s Kuji-kiri meditation side activity locations.
A Rare Occurrence	Complete all legendary sumi-e	Find all 5 Legendary Sumi-e animals across Japan: -Legendary Macque at the Sarumaru Shrine, Little Leaf Glade, Yamashiro – Legendary Silver Fox at Kamimisu Inari Shrine, Nakahechi Route, Kii – Legendary Grey Heron at Lake Suigetsu, Wakasa – Legendary Deer in Yoshino, Yamato – Legendary Tanuki in Shigaraki Hamlet, The Shimmering Fields, Omi

Chase the Morning	Add a sumi-e to the Hideout	Build a Study then customize a Wall Station and display a Sumi-e painting.
Against Wood and Stone	Fully upgrade a building in the Hideout	Unlock the Hideout during the From Spark to Flame quest then fully upgrade any main building – Forge, Dojo, Study, Stables, etc.
Everybody Benefits!	Adopt a pet	Pet any dog or cat your come across then return to your Hideout and place it anywhere in the grounds. This also works for Sumi-e.
Happy Place	Reach the highest point on the map	Synchronize the viewpoint on top of Mount Hakkyo in the southeast of Yamato.
Pathfinder	Visit every province on the map	Enter all 9 the main provinces in the game: Izumi Settsu, Yamashiro, Omi, Harima, Iga, Ymato, Kii, Wakasa, and Tamba.
Scouting Mission	Gather information using a scout	Make sure the Guide Exploration Mode is off then use a scout from the world map to track down the quest marker for any Onryo or Shinbakufu quest. Make sure you have a quest tracked in on Objective Board and can see the clues on the left on the world map.
Would You Kindly?	Complete a contract in each province	Buy a Kakurega in evey single of the 9 provinces, then complete a contract in each one.

There you have it – all trophies. Compared to other games, the requirements to platinum Assassin’s Creed Shadows are fairly tame and we don’t see any specific trophy causing most players any issues. You’ll be able to unlock all 55 trophies in a single playthrough as well so ticking them all off won’t be too much of a time sink.
