The PlayStation 5 Pro release date is set for November 7, 2024. Tapping into the beefier constituent parts of the Pro, developers are patching and tweaking games to improve performance. These will be stamped with the Enhanced label, allowing players take advantage of the new PS5 Pro console’s power. Expect a boost in visual fidelity, super sharp image clarity on high-res displays courtesy of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, support for 60Hz and 120Hz displays, and higher frame rates pushing 120 FPS at 4K.

With the improved GPU alongside machine learning, the Pro will further boost Ray Tracing performance, with the likes of Gran Turismo supporting Ray-Traced reflections on cars during races. Older titles, such as The Last of Us Part 2, will run at 60FPS in Fidelity mode, rather than the 30FPS offered in Fidelity mode on the standard PS5. If you’re getting a Pro, here’s a list of Enhanced titles:

Along with the above, there are three PSVR2 PS5 Pro Enhanced games, which are:

  • CyubeVR
  • Kayak VR Mirage
  • Subside

At the moment, it seems like the mainstay PlayStation first-party titles are getting the Enhanced treatment as a priority. Big publishers like Ubisoft and Bandai Namco are tweaking their flagship titles for the system early as well. No doubt this will expand to other major publishers in the near future.

It’s also worth noting the the PS5 Pro Game boost function that aims to improve performance and enhanced image quality. This can be applied to more than 8,500 backward compatible PlayStation 4 games playable on PS5 Pro.

What does PS5 Pro Enhanced mean?

PS5 Enhanced is a label that signals to players that a game has been updated to make the most of the Pro hardware to improve overall performance and visual fidelity. Sony has stated that it will make it easier to find what games benefit from the improvements by having an Enhanced Edition in the game’s title.

✓ Pro may not be a deal breaker to start with

Don’t worry too much about Enhanced versions of the games you love. From what we’ve seen, the differences are pretty minor, especially if you’re one of the majority of PS5 owners who already favor performance mode over fidelity.

We’ll update the page frequently as we find more Pro Enhanced games. We expect to see more Enhanced games coming to the latest PlayStation console as the release date gets nearer.
