As the massive Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4 nears its release date, fans across numerous systems are gearing up to slay demons and score loot. While the game already runs well on current computers and consoles, Blizzard is promising enhancements for those who pick up the new PS5 Pro, aiming to make new customers very happy indeed.
Many fans are hesitant to pick up a PS5 Pro since this console upgrade will require players to buy a separate disc drive if they want to use their physical games. The 30th-anniversary edition has changed some minds, but the lack of PS5 Pro Enhanced games on launch is a worry. However, Diablo is set to get some new enhancements very soon.
Blizzard promises enhancements for Diablo 4 players on PS5 Pro
Blizzard general manager Rod Fergusson confirmed that Diablo 4 will receive PS5 Pro enhancements on Twitter. Fergusson didn’t reveal what these enhancements will be but did credit the developers for working hard on this update for the game. Only time will tell if this is a major upgrade, especially since the previous “enhancements” shown by Sony failed to impress.
“I’ve been getting this question quite a bit recently and I’m happy to say that Diablo IV and Vessel of Hatred will indeed be PS5 Pro Enhanced!” Fergusson quote tweeted on Twitter. “Very proud of our hardworking team to make this happen. More details at a later date.”
The action RPG runs pretty well on the base PS5, running at a consistent 60FPS with a few drops here and there when things get intense. With the added GPU power of the PS5 Pro, we speculate that a higher base resolution and some extra graphical effects will be in play, but the CPU bottleneck of the system may rule out a 120FPS mode.
Can Diablo 4 look or run any better?
Until the PS5 Pro version comes out, it’s clear that PC is where Diablo 4 looks the best, thanks to numerous graphical options that can be customized. If the PS5 Pro is this big improvement that Sony claims, the ARPG could look just as good as the current PC version. That visual difference isn’t a big deal to most players, as only hardcore fans will notice the biggest differences.
Despite the 30th-anniversary edition selling well, fans are doubtful the PS5 Pro will push games since graphics have essentially reached their full potential. Sony’s product manager tried to counter the criticism by saying that this system isn’t meant for everyone but hasn’t improved its image.
In the meantime, Diablo 4 fans will be happy to know that the Vessel of Hatred update has an option to remove those annoying pop-ups for warnings. Fans curious about this expansion’s release can keep up with our countdown timer.
