The RPG-7 is designed to fire a single rocket with one or two in the mag as a reserve, without the lock-on guiding system, so it is purely a free-fire weapon. But it is designed in a way that the reload time is comparatively less than other launchers in the game. It is a rocket-propelled grenade, which is a shoulder-fired missile weapon that launches rockets equipped with an explosive warhead. The RPG-7 is carried by an individual user and is frequently used as an anti-tank weapon. These warheads are affixed to a rocket motor which propels the RPG toward the target, and they are stabilized in flight with fins. It is loaded from the front.

Unlike the other launchers in the game, the RPG-7 does not have a lock-on missile guiding system. It requires good accuracy and it is a free-fire weapon. Although a direct hit is not always guaranteed, there are plenty of opportunities to deal huge amounts of damage. If you’re not interested in the selection of pistols, the RPG-7 is always a great alternative in order to bolster the rest of the loadout.

Overview

The RPG-7 features in Call of Duty go all the way back to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It is an unguided, self-propelled rocket launcher that fires a slower projectile with a high-explosive yield, destroying anything in its path. This weapon is useful for dealing with large groups of opposition or any airborne Killstreaks—even vehicles. The RPG-7 requires a steady hand with good accuracy due to the lack of a lock-on mechanism.

  • The RPG-7 is not a close-range weapon as it deals a lot of damage and has a great damage radius, so it might also kill the user when used in close combat. It can be used for mid-to-long-range combat if you see enemies charging toward you or running away from you in a vehicle. Either way, it can prove to be deadly when used the right way. Using a launcher for close range is akin to putting semtex on yourself and letting it explode.
  • The RPG-7 is made for mostly mid-range attacks and not even long-range attacks. It has a great range and can travel a long distance to kill your enemies, but aiming at a very distant target will not help because the rocket curves off at a long distance. Although it does not have a lock-on system and it is a free-fire weapon, with great accuracy, it can be very useful to wipe out more than just one enemy. It has a single fire mode, so be sure not to waste it!

Design

The design of RPG-7 is based on rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) is a shoulder-fired missile weapon that launches rockets equipped with an explosive warhead. Most RPGs can be carried by an individual soldier, and are frequently used as anti-tank weapons. These warheads are affixed to a rocket motor which propels the RPG towards the target and they are stabilized in flight with fins. Some types of RPG are reloadable with new rocket-propelled grenades, while others are single-use. RPGs are generally loaded from the front.

Stats

The weapon has low accuracy as it does not have a lock-on system, so it is up to the user how accurately he/she can aim. But it deals great damage and has quite the range for a launcher. The two major aspects of this launcher are its damage and range. However, being a rocket launcher, it does not have a great fire rate as only a single rocket can be fired at a time. It also affects the user’s mobility as it is a heavy weapon. The overall stats show the RPG-7 at 57.67.

Damage

The explosion caused by the RPG-7’s rocket can damage nearby enemies, making this weapon effective when clearing choke points or crowded areas. It deals great damage, and it can single-handedly help you clear out a room full of enemies.

Fire Rate

As for all launchers, the fire rate is something that should not be of concern as launchers are very damaging with only one strike. Although it has a very low fire rate, it still has a lower reload time than other launchers. This way, you can make multiple attacks in much less time than with other launchers.

Accuracy

The RPG-7 is not an accurate weapon because, unlike other launchers that have a guiding lock-on system, the RPG-7 lacks that feature. RPG-7’s accuracy depends solely on the user’s aim.

Recoil

The RPG-7 has no recoil whatsoever. It has a little initial firing recoil, but otherwise, it does not have a lot of recoil. It is a single-firing weapon, so there is no recoil when using the RPG-7.

Magazine

This weapon does not have a large magazine. You will have one rocket ready to be fired with only one or two in reserve. But with less reload time, those remaining mags can be very useful if used at the right time and in the right way.

How To Unlock The RPG-7 Launcher In Modern Warfare 2

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta only offers a small selection of weapons to play with for now until its official launch. Though the RPG-7 launcher is usually received as a reward at Rank 44.

  • To begin, rank up by playing frequently in order to reach rank 44 and unlock the RPG-7 Launcher, as it will only be available once you reach rank 44.
  • Complete objectives and make enough kills to earn XP to unlock the weapon.
  • By completing objectives and earning enough kill XP, you will reach rank 44, where you can unlock the RPG-7 launcher.
  • Once available, head over to the Custom Loadouts option in the Weapons menu.
  • Once you are in the Custom Loadouts, select the plus icon, which will create two loadouts.
  • If you already have an existing loadout, you can use that as well by choosing the RPG-7 as your secondary weapon.

Weapons Platform

Grow and upgrade a weapon far beyond its class to truly customize your loadout. Evolve your weapon platform from an assault rifle to an SMG, or use Rocket Launchers as a secondary by swapping Receivers on a specific platform, using a full suite of attachments to support your weapon’s role. But the RPG-7 does not have a weapons platform so far in the game.

Blueprints

Currently, no blueprints are available for the RPG-7, and will be listed once the game officially launches.

Attachments

Attachments can help make your weapon more agile and also make it more effective. In the Modern Warfare 2 beta, the RPG-7 launcher has no attachments that are unlocked or manually equipped at the moment. You’re still free to customize your own personal playstyle; however, thanks to a choice of perks and equipment, it can help best accompany the RPG-7 Launcher.

Perks for RPG-7 Launcher

Perks can help you improve your gameplay a little. These benefits alter not just your weapon’s in-game attributes but also your loadout carrying capacity and quite possibly the whole dynamic of a game. They give you a further advantage to your gun.

  • Scavenger: This perk increases the RPG-7 launcher’s effective uses per life, making it a worthwhile pick for this loadout and also providing a reliable way to restock your ammo, which is critical when using a rocket launcher.
  • Overclock: The overclock perk drastically increases how often you will be able to use your field upgrades. Take along an upgrade that’s complementary to the RPG-7 or its primary weapon, and you’ll begin to see much greater rates of success for your loadout.

Alternatives

  • Basic: Extra Tactical
  • Bonus: Fast Hands
  • Ultimate: High Alert

Tactical Equipment For The RPG-7 Launcher

  • Stun Grenade: A piece of equipment that serves as a versatile option for offense or defense, blinding enemies and leaving them temporarily vulnerable, giving you enough time to reload or make an attack.
  • Throwing Knife: An additional option for dealing lethal damage, that can function as a second sub weapon of sorts, compensating for the RPG-7’s low ammo count and low mobility. The Throwing Knife is also considerably quieter than a barrage of rockets, allowing you to dispatch enemies quickly without giving away your position.

Alternative for RPG-7 Launcher

If you feel like the RPG-7 launcher does not quite cut it for you and isn’t your cup of tea, then there is another option for you to try out such as the PILA Launcher or the JOKR Launcher. These rocket launchers fit the description of something relative to the RPG-7 launcher in Modern Warfare 2, with reliable accuracy as well as damage along with a lock-on guiding system for those who need more accuracy. The RPG-7 is a free-fire weapon with no guiding system so those who find a problem can choose to use either of these two recommended launchers with something that can help you lock onto your enemies easier.
