The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta only offers a small selection of weapons to play with, however, there is a glitch using which you can equip the unreleased Bruen .45 in your custom class. While the X12 and X13 are the most used secondarys during the Auto beta, they come nowhere near the Bruen .45 when it comes to firepower.

In the previous Call of Duty series, pistols had a dedicated slot. However, from Call of Duty 2 onwards, this slot is removed so a pistol occupies 1 of the only 2 primary gun slots. This change makes pistols much less appealing to many, as carrying one means giving up a full-sized weapon. However, with a pistol in hand, a player can actually run much faster. Pistols usually have moderate stopping power and are able to pull off many shots in quick succession. Lower caliber pistols usually have higher magazine capacities, while the higher caliber pistols are louder, have more recoil, and a smaller magazine capacity. In general, semi-auto pistols are less powerful than revolvers.

Overview

The Bruen .45 is a weapon featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it is one of the pistols available in the game. In Modern Warfare 2, one of your most often used weapons will be the Bruen .45. Due to its sub-weapon classification, it can be used in any loadout that isn’t centered upon the Overkill perk. The Bruen .45 is a solid, trustworthy option if you don’t want to use a perk slot on Overkill to carry along a second primary weapon. This pistol can serve as a more than adequate backup weapon when your primary weapon is unavailable.

Design

The design of Bruen .45 is based on SIG-Sauer P220. With origins dating back to the late 1970s, the P220 is considered by many to be the one that started it all for SIG SAUER. This classic has been reborn, with the same quality, accuracy and reliability that the Swiss Army has relied on for decades. The P220 was built to meet and exceed rigorous military standards. Available in both carry and full-size, the legendary P220 lives on, allowing you to put all-metal power in your corner.

Stats

The Bruen .45 is statistically the best pistol in single-player, because of its virtually nonexistent recoil, high capacity, and decent power, but it really does not matter due to the abundance of enemy weapons available to pick up.

Damage

It boasts the highest close-range damage of any of the low-caliber pistols. It will kill in three shots out to a longer range when compared to other pistols.

Fire Rate

Bruen .45 has an incredibly rapid rate of fire, especially for a pistol, the Bruen .45 often feels less like a companion to your main weapon and more of a high-performing tool in its own right. Taking full advantage of Modern Warfare 2’s speedy TTK means that the Bruen .45 can stand by itself as a worthy weapon to take into any match.

Accuracy

Its major flaw, however, is its mediocre hip fire accuracy compared to that of other pistols, particularly while moving. This makes the Bruen .45 a less reactive pistol than others because aiming down sights is very important.

Recoil

It also features a slightly lower visual recoil which is pretty controllable all on its own.

Magazine

Bruen .45 has a high magazine capacity and with this, players with a good trigger finger can dump a whole magazine into enemies quickly without having to reload mid-fight.

Close Range

The Bruen .45 is already well-suited for close-range gunfights. At close range, the high damage and extremely high fire rate can turn the Bruen .45 into a highly lethal weapon. You can expect to one-shot enemies at a point-blank range, owing to the incredible damage output of the Bruen .45

Long Range

The Bruen .45 pistol’s damage range is not too bad unless the player intends to use the Bruen .45 at long range, where most pistols do not fare well. Bruen .45 is significantly weaker than its counterparts. This makes the Bruen .45 a poorer choice on maps with open sidelines, where targets are often outside of its range.

How To Unlock The Bruen .45 in Modern Warfare 2

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta only offers a small selection of weapons to play with. However, there is a glitch in which you can equip the unreleased Bruen .45 in your custom class.

  1. To start, head over to the Custom Loadouts option in the Weapons menu. You can unlock this option after reaching Rank 4.
  2. Once you are in the Custom Loadouts, select the plus icon. This will create two loadouts. If you already have existing loadouts, you can use that as well.
  3. Now, select any one of the loadouts and select the Perk Package option.

You need to apply Overkill as the base perk in the Perk Package, just like how it was for the MP5. It doesn’t matter what perks you put in the other slots.

  1. For the second loadout, select the Perk Package that you have created.
  2. Now go back to the first custom loadout and edit the perk from Overkill to any other perk
  3. When you go back to the loadout screen, you will notice a bug, where the Expedite Shotgun will be equipped in the secondary weapon slot.
  4. Don’t worry about that and just log into the match. Now, switch to the secondary weapon, and you will automatically get the Bruen .45.

It is unknown whether this glitch will work once MW2 Beta ends, or whether this gun will be available during the official launch, so you can try it out in matches to get a feel of it.

Extra Tactical

Battle Hardened

This perk can be invaluable in Modern Warfare 2, helping to lessen the impact when explosives and other tactical gear are used against you. This can help when moving from point to point, but it also reduces your chances of being wiped out when the enemy is advancing in your position.

Tactical Equipment For Bruen .45

  • Flash Grenade
  • Tear Gas

Flash Grenade

Keeping your opponents dazed and blinded will throw off an impending assault, and give you the chance you need to turn the tables.

Tear Gas

Tear Gas will hamper and slow your opponents, placing them in an incredibly vulnerable state, and making them easy targets for the Bruen .45.

Alternatives for Bruen .45

If you find that the Bruen .45 doesn’t quite cut it for you, then there is another option for you to try out such as the X12 pistol. The X12 fits a specific niche in Modern Warfare 2, with reliable accuracy and top-tier recoil control. Its damage potential is outstripped by most other weapons in the game, but that’s not to say that the X12 Is useless in the damage department. The X12’s semi-auto fire still allows you to cut through opponents with the right setup.
