There’s still over a month remaining for The Finals Season 2, but it’s natural that fans are looking ahead to the future with the game’s next chapter. Embark will start marketing new content for the next chapter when it gets closer, yet we do have some teases and confirmations from the developer already. While vague, they have teased ‘exciting changes’ coming in The Finals Season 3 for tournaments.
While it’s not as popular as Helldivers 2, Embark has revealed The Finals minimum daily player count to alleviate concerns from fans that the game is dying. Its playerbase is healthy, and there is a lot to anticipate if you’re already a daily combatant. A leak has revealed an insanely cute pet coming to the game soon, meanwhile, Embark is encouraging fans to sign a petition to make an awesome skin idea a reality.
Whether it be skins or new gadgets and weapons, the potential for The Finals is near endless. Season 3 could be fantastic, and Embark has told fans to expect ‘exciting changes’ to tournaments as a core part of the game.
The Finals Season 3 will bring ‘exciting changes’ to tournaments
Rob Runesson, the Executive Producer of The Finals as well as Co-founder of Embark Studios, recently participated in a Reddit AMA along with The Finals Creative Director, Gustav Tilleby. In this AMA, they answered a lot of queries from fans about the game as well as possibilities for the future.
One user asked if ‘there has been much discussion on expanding the vision of “Tournaments” and “the game show” in a new direction?’. As to what changes could be implemented, the user suggested ‘much larger tournament lobbies that are pre-scheduled to only begin at certain times of day’.
While not giving anything away, Gustav responded, ‘Tournaments are a core part of THE FINALS and we are working on some cool and exciting changes coming already in season 3’.
Again, while vague, changes to tournaments is something else to anticipate for The Finals Season 3. Embark has also confirmed that we are getting another new map, and the devs have revealed that a massive new comms feature is coming, too.
In addition to the above, although not for Season 3 specifically, Embark has also teased adding a game-changing addition that was initially seen in very early gameplay footage. It’s not guaranteed that this addition will be ever added, but it’s something the developers will try.
