We’ve decided to put together our LG G3 release date predictions based on what we saw at this year’s CES and release window patterns for previous models of the G series.

The LG G3 is another TV expected to be released at some point in 2023 – and, like our LG C3 release date predictions, these are purely speculative as the TV brand has kept any official dates quiet.

With the recent breakthrough with their first wireless TV, we’re already expecting a big year for the display manufacturing giant. So, alongside the LG C3 – we’re also hoping that the LG G2’s successor follows.

The LG G3 was first on show at CES 2023, and David Seperson of LG was showcasing the product’s unique advancements in design and usability. While the LG G3 will have a new WebOS home screen and 8K future-proofing – little was said about any confirmed release date.

However, none of that means that we can’t still go ahead and make predictions regarding the release date. We can do this by looking at existing information for the LG G3’s predecessors and get a feel for any obvious release date patterns.

Previous LG G-series TV release windows:

As there are only 2 TVs to base this off – we can corroborate with other LG TV releases to confirm that there’s a likely pattern. For example, the LG C3 release date prediction was based on LG’s announcement of the earlier LG C-series TVs at CES and then later releases in April.

So, with this evidence in mind – we can predict that the LG G3 could likely be released in April 2023.

Will the LG G3 be worth waiting for?

The LG G2 has lived in the shadow of the LG C2 for much of its life-span – however the recent hands-on experiences at CES 2023 might look to suggest this year’s release is going to be different.

What Hifi have reviewed both and we’ve had a look at what they think of the two TV’s alongside Trusted Reviews thoughts on the G3. Both reviews of the LG G3 seem entirely positive – with the gap between the LG C3 and LG G3 seemingly being closed by the OLED Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro performance increases driven by the new Alpha 9 AI Processor.

Furthermore, the LG G3 is donning a heatsink that allows a much higher peak brightness, while the LG C3 isn’t as well equipped. It seems as though consumers could have a hard time picking between the LG C3 and LG G3 this year.

Compared to the LG G2 – the LG G3 looks to be a big improvement. However, until we get our hands on one of LG’s upcoming TVs – we won’t know for certain if it’s worth waiting for.
