After its unveiling at CES we’re here to bring you our LG C3 TV price predictions.

The LG C3 is likely to be one of the most popular TVs of the year, just as its predecessor the LG C2 was. Only recently did LG confirm in a press release that the LG C3 was on its way, and while they have revealed new features and improvements the TV will come with they have kept schtum with regards to price and release date.

This means that the best we can do is predict how much the LG C3 will retail for, by looking at previous releases we should be able to get a fairly good sense of the kind of price range it will sit in.

Both the LG C2, and LG C1 were similarly announced at CES and then went on to be released in April of the same year, 2021 for the C1, and 2022 for the C2. So far LG has only shown us a 55-inch and 65-inch version of the new LG C3, so let’s compare the price of the previous models on release day for those sizes.

According to articles written around their release, the 55-inch version of the LG C2 was seemingly around $1799 at release. It would also appear that one year earlier the LG C1 was seemingly the same price also. Again, based on reports around their initial launches, it appears to have been the same story for the other sizes, with both the 65-inch versions coming in at $2499 on release day.

Because these two TVs were released a year apart but with seemingly identical pricing, we think there could be a good chance that the LG C3 will retail in this region. With rising global prices, we can’t be certain it will be the exact same, but it is a safe assumption that the price will sit in this mid-range category.

When will we know more? Well, we’ll have to keep an eye out for the LG C3’s release date announcement, which at the time of writing is yet to be confirmed. Typically speaking, more information about these products tends to start coming in closer to release, but we’ve got our ear to the ground for any information and we’ll update this section with all the latest.

Opinion – Will the LG C3 be an improvement over the LG C2?

Though LG has kept silent about release dates and prices it has revealed several new features and hardware improvements. Chief among them is the brand new Alpha a9 Gen 6 processor which takes all the excellent features of the a9 Gen 5 and improves upon them. This includes the ability to discern between background and foreground in images, allowing the smart TV to focus its brightness on the areas the eye is looking at.

There are also more HDMI 2.1 ports as now some tweaks to the UI. Overall though mostly feel like subtle, if sensible changes There is nothing radically new here to get TV enthusiasts excited about. We’re hoping that the LG C3 staying at the price range detailed above is made more likely by this fact. The small improvements and optimisation would make it an improvement on the C2 but only provided it stays in the same price category.

At the time of writing the LG C2’s price has been slashed down to $1899, offering a full $600 of savings. With the prospect of this price dropping even further when the LG C3 is released, it’s looking very possible that a C2 will be the smarter investment.
