As we approach the second phase of patch 1.0 in Zenless Zone Zero, we’re all eagerly anticipating the Zhu Yuan banner release date. Despite the wonderful roster available in the game, new is always better, and one more character is joining the roster very soon. The first phase in 1.0 featured Ellen Joe and now we’ll get to pull for Zhu Yuan, a member of PubSec in New Eridu.

Here you will find the Zenless Zone Zero Zhu Yuan banner release date and time countdown along with her skills and the accompanying A-Rank Agents. If you’re familiar with other HoYoverse games like Genshin Impact, the gacha system and schedule in ZZZ are exactly the same, with two S-Rank characters for each patch.

Zenless Zone Zero Zhu Yuan banner release date

The release date for the Zhu Yuan banner in Zenless Zone Zero is Wednesday, July 24 2024. This banner will run until August 13, after which patch 1.1 will follow shortly after. Alongside Zhu Yuan’s Unswerving Bullet banner, you can also get your hands on her signature W-Engine in the Dissonant Sonata weapon banner. Her weapon is called the Riot Suppressor Mark VI. On Zhu Yuan’s banner, A-Rank Agents Ben Bigger and Nicole will appear with a higher drop rate.

When does Zhu Yuan come out

The release time for when Zhu Yuan comes out in Zenless Zone Zero is 11AM BST on July 24, and 3AM PT/6AM ET on July 24.

This date has been confirmed by HoYoverse on the official ZZZ website, saying the banner will go live on July 24 at 12PM server time (UTC+8). If you look in-game at Ellen’s banner, at the time of writing you can see the countdown says there is one day remaining to pull for her. As you’d expect, Zhu Yuan is an S-Rank Agent, and she is a coveted Ether Attacker. At the moment, the only other Ether unit in the game is Nicole, but she’s a support.

Since there is part of the story in ZZZ where you play as Zhu Yuan, we get to look at her skills, covering her whole kit and attacks.

Basic Attack: Don’t Move!

• Assault Mode: Press Basic Attack Button to activate.
  Unleash a flurry of martial arts, bullets, and Ether Buckshots in a series of up to 5 attacks, dealing Physical DMG and Ether DMG. Upon activation of the 5th hit, obtain 1 Enhanced Shotshell.

Basic Attack: Please Do Not Resist

• Suppressive Mode: Hold the Basic Attack Button to activate.
  Unleash up to 3 Shotshell piercing attacks, dealing Physical DMG. If Zhu Yuan has Enhanced Shotshells upon firing, 1 Enhanced Shotshell will be consumed, dealing massive Ether DMG.
• While using this skill, drag the joystick and press Basic Attack to activate her Dash Attack and readjust to face the selected direction.
• While under Suppressive Mode, hold Basic Attack to switch to Assault Mode.

Dodge

• Dodge: Tactical Detour – A rapid dodge. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

Dash Attack: Firepower Offensive

• While in Assault Mode, press dodge to activate: Uses handgun to attack, dealing Physical DMG.

Dash Attack: Overwhelming Firepower

• Drag the joystick during Basic Attack: Please Do Not Resist to activate:
• Unleashes a Shotshell piercing attack, dealing Physical DMG. If Zhu Yuan has Enhanced Shotshells when firing, 1 Enhanced Shotshell will be consumed, dealing massive Ether DMG.

Dodge Counter: Fire Blast

• Press Basic Attack during a Perfect Dodge to activate: Shoots enemies in front with an Ether Buckshot, dealing Ether DMG. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

Assist

Quick Assist – Covering Shot

• When the on-field character is launched in the air, press Assist Attack to activate:
• Shoots enemies in front with an Ether Buckshot, dealing Ether DMG. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

Evasive Assist: Guarded Backup

• When the character on the field is about to be attacked, press Assist to activate:
• Dodges the enemy’s attack and activates Vital View.

Assist Follow-Up: Defensive Counter

• Press Basic Attack after an Evasive Assist to activate,
• Attack with a combination of martial arts and shotshells, dealing Physical DMG and Ether DMG. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

Special Attack

Special Attack: Buckshot Blast

• Press Special Attack to activate.
• Shoots Ether Buckshots that deal Ether DMG. This can be repeated 3 times by repeatedly pressing Special Attack.
• Anti-Interrupt level is increased while using this skill.

EX Special Attack: Full Barrage

• With enough Energy, press EX Special Attack to activate.
• Shoots a series of Ether Buckshots, that explode and deal massive Ether DMG.
• Upon activation, gain 3 Enhanced Shotshells. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

Chain Attack

Chain Attack: Eradication Mode

• When a Chain Attack is triggered, select the character to activate.
• Uses Modified Master Firearm to execute a saturated attack, firing lasers and seeking missiles to deal massive Ether DMG.
• Upon activation, gain 3 Enhanced Shotshells. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

Ultimate: Max Eradication Mode

• Uses Modified Master Firearm to execute a saturated attack, firing lasers and seeking missiles to deal massive Ether DMG.
• Upon activation, gain 3 Enhanced Shotshells.
• Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

Core

Core Passive: Special Ops Ammunition

• When Zhu Yuan is under Suppressive Mode, using Enhanced Shotshells increases her DMG.
• When attacking Stunned enemies, this DMG buff is increased.
• When Zhu Yuan enters the battlefield, she immediately gains 6 Enhanced Shotshells.

Additional Ability: Tactical Coordination

• When another character in your squad shares the same Attribute or Faction: Zhu Yuan’s CRIT Rate is increased by 30% 10s after using an EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate.

As mentioned, Zhu Yuan’s banner will last until August 13, so you’ll have a few weeks to pull for her. If you missed out on Ellen Joe, you’ll now have to wait until her next re-run banner before you can get her, but this might be a long time.
