Best build for Ellen in Zenless Zone Zero
With Ellen, the best build for her is very simple. You want to have her as a main Ice DPS, which means focusing on increasing her attacking capabilities. As such, the best Ellen build will use the following Weapons and Drive Discs:

Best Ellen Drive Discs
If you want, you can switch out the Drive Discs to focus on other aspects of Ellen’s stats. We think the Polar Metal, with its Ice DMG and Woodpecker with its Crit Rate increase, are perfect for Ellen. For Ellen, you always want to use the 4-piece Polar Metal set on her, with the final two slots being used for whatever you want. Polar Metal ensures her Basic Attack and Dask Attack damage is extremely powerful, suiting her rotations.
The only other alternative you can use as Ellen’s 4-piece set is the Woodpecker Electro to increase her Crit Rate, but we highly recommend you use two pieces of this set alongside the Polar Metal to get the best of both worlds. The four-piece set bonus from Polar is much more important to Ellen. Another two-piece set to use for Ellen is the Puffer Electro Drive Disc to increase Ellen’s Pen Ratio by +8%. It’s entirely up to you which set you want to use, we recommend the set that fills in more gaps for you and each Drive Disc’s sub-stats.
If you pair Ellen with more Ice Agents, you’ll trigger Freezing and Shatter more frequently, which is exactly what this Drive Disc is good for.

The best weapon for Ellen is the Deep Sea Visitor, which is Ellen’s signature S-Rank W-Engine. You can only get this weapon from the limited W-Engine banner, and it is her best weapon simply because it enhances all of her important stats and gives her kit a huge bonus. If you don’t want to pull for it, you have a few alternatives to use instead.

For your weapons, we highly recommend the S-Rank Brimstone W-Engine as an alternative thanks to how much it will improve Ellen’s attack. Outside of these two S-Rank weapons, you can choose from three A-Rank weapons that you might have, which are the Cannon Rotor, Starlight Engine, and the Street Superstar. The good thing about ZZZ is you can buy W-Engines from the Gadget Store if you’ve been really unlucky with your rolls. Thankfully, you don’t need her S-Rank weapon to make the best Ellen build.
